2x 2nds and Kuzy. I'd be okay with that. That's the Bennett price with a dump.

The Rangers don’t need to take a cap dump to trade Kakko.

Nor do the Flames need to give one. I’d rather just keep Kuzmenko and hope he goes in a run before the deadline.

Unless he earns a spot back through hard work in practice and simplifies his game to fit in with the Flames he might be done in the NHL or 99% of the way there.
Pelts works hard and absorbs coaching.

In this hypothetical world in which the Flames trade for Kakko, I think it would be awesome if bringing in Kakko didn’t cost Pelletier a lineup spot. But I’m unsure how to accomplish that. Maybe you switch Sharangovich or Kakko to centre, and you take Rooney out?
Huberdeau-Kadri-Pospisil
Coleman-Backlund-Coronato
Sharangovich-Zary-Pelletier
Lomberg-Rooney-Duehr

Possibly yeah. I just wouldn’t want the Flames to have to add more value to a trade because of also dumping cap in the same trade.

Maybe we need to careful with the 2019 players. Seems like the draft and players might just stink. A lot of problematic players in that top 10.

I don’t trust The Fourth Period all that much, but the tweets in this article are helpful. They show connected NY reporters feel confused about the decision to scratch Kakko unless it’s a precursor to a trade.

There's a goalie who's not too bad though

Does sound like Kakko could be the next domino to fall in NYC.
I don't have anything on who's got the inside track, the feeling is there's quite some serious interest.
As I stated previously and just reconfirmed, Calgary has kept an eye on this situation.
The only confirmation I received was:
"If there's a player from the Rangers Calgary would be on heavily, it would be Kakko"

Between the Canadiens, Red Wings, Rangers, and Sabres it feels like all four teams could fire their coaching staff by the end of the week. St. Louis was smart to make a move at Montgomery before these other teams had a chance.

Starting to feel like teams have had enough soak time to decide on whether they want to start reshaping their lineups or picking up depth.
With the amount of healthy scratches lately I wonder who might be the first to get dumped from the Flames to bring in new blood. My list of contenders would be
Kuzmenko
Miromanov
Barrie
Vladar

Didn't the Sabres just hired Lindy Ruff at the beginning of the season?

Three of those are of zero interest to anyone right now.
