It was proxy betting. Essentially asking friends to place bets for him in the US(using his account) when he was in Canada, because he couldn't place bets while over here. It wasn't hockey or NHL related. Pinto from his words didn't know it was illegal.

I still think it was a successful season for him, and he is and going to be a very good player.

Boston claims Wahlstrom. Engvall clears.

I would call that a pretty good opportunity.
He’s still not worth an Andersson swap though. I wouldn’t trade a 15th ish pick for Pinto and that’s about what Andersson should get.

I will add that McTavish has jumped to the top of the list for Craig, but I’m not sure how eager the ducks are in moving him. Sounds like this rumour may have been leaked to drum up an idea of his value more than wanting to move him out immediately.

It would certainly become a bidding war, how far would be we willing to go? Easily going to cost a 1st++

I wonder how Anaheim values Coronato or Sharangovich. They don’t really need D so probably a forward going back as the main piece ands that about the best the Flames have I’d want to trade.

Apologies. That was offside.

I think there’s room for the Flames to go out and add several centres whether it’s through trade, draft, or signings. Pinto fits a need and he would be consistent with what Conroy has been doing in adding players that might be buried in their current situation.

Like pretty much everyone else here I hope the Flames draft and develop an elite C but there’s still going to be room for guys like Pinto. He would fit on many teams across the league.

It's to bait out potential trade partners assets for Zegras (Injury or not).

I've been told they aren't seriously shopping McTavish.

I mean I'd trade for Zegras but I'm not Ponying up massive assets. Dude wants out, they don't want him, they don't really have a ton of leverage. Any time a player has wanted out his value plummets.

Only outlier to me was the Cutter Gauthier situation. That was a straight across trade

Zegras IMO has red flags teams won't put up big assets for. He's the total buy low player.

I don't know why they'd care. It's none of your business what the player does on another team, it could be a wakeup call that you maybe have subpar coaching, development in the org but it's not a reason to NOT trade a guy if he isn't working out.

You could just be Anaheim instead, hold on to players like Gibson and Fowler and Jakob Silfverberg for 6+ years who sort of waste away and get nothing. That's worse

Not ready for a rumor but what are peoples thoughts on acquiring Filip Chytil?

What is Philip Chytil? To me he feels like a tweener middle 6 center. Can fill in on 2nd line duties but maybe more suited to 3rd line. Career high 45p. Only played 10 games last year . I'm kind of iffy on the 25 year old. I mean if the cost of acquisition was right, sure. But ehhhhhhhhh.

Chytil could play 2nd line but the Rangers love him on the 3rd. Troubling concussion history though.

Between backlund, kadri, zary, honzek, keirns... I feel like this team has a lot of options at 2c and 3c. In terms of a trade, I think you have to have 1c or 2c potential, or not even bother.

HNIC:

Rangers are open for business
They have some untouchables like Shesterkin
Willing to hear all options,

Bruins are getting a lot of calls Frederic

Canucks want to give Desharnais a fresh start
Originally wanted only draft picks back but now are considering all options

Blues want to move Brandon Saad
Saad is a healthy scratch tonight
1 year remaining on his contract after this season
Has full NTC but willing to consider some places

Id take him + assets, he can be our Mantha for the remainder of this year and next year.

Chytil's injury history makes him not worth the cost.
I'd flip Kuzmenko for him straight across, that's about it.
