Oh really?
I might just take mine on a little trip to Russia, a little jaunt around Red Square, attach my feelings in a heartfelt note and personally deliver it to it's intended recipient.
Those Russian windows are no match for an angry Calgarian's brick.

Is that true? The gesture seems nice, but I’d think the shipping costs would outweigh just sending money to buy bricks more nearby.

It’s outlandish but maybe knowing this world.
I’m putting pissbricks for Ukraine in my twitter bio.
We have four. My dad would disown me if I even tried to fill out a form to get his pissbrick.
I’m gonna sell my pissbricks in kijiji

It says you can pick up for a family member who purchased who passed away as long as you can prove legal interest (i.e interest in a will for example as a inheritor). They also mention if you aren't sure if you have the required documents that they encourage you to fill out an application anyways. I bet they'll release the brick to you as long as you are the only applicant for the specific brick and this is a way to deter people from claiming random bricks...

Yeah you can upload files with your request. I uploaded my mom's death certificate. I can't imagine them getting uppity about things.

Can't even toss it through a window, as it identifies you.

Naw, thats the trick! I'm going to hurl UCB's Grandma's brick through Gondek's window!
Its the perfect crime! The identified perpetrator is already dead! They'd never see it coming!
No one ever suspects the Spanish Inquisition!

Anyone who wants a brick or complained that they were going to get rid of the bricks is forbidden from ever complaining about gov't waste/inefficiency

It’s kind of a weird phenomenon, people spending $20 or whatever and thinking they own the bricks. Like I am going to the new library to pry out a window cause I made a donation.

Minus 1 point for unceremoniously, inappropriately, and incorrectly shoehorning in a Monty Python punchline.

Just sentimentality. Nothing more.
Ours is my mom's maiden name. She had three sisters and no brothers. All the sisters bought it for their dad (my grandpa). Her family name dies when the last of the sisters goes. It's meaningful to me and my cousins. We like #### like this is all.

I suggested to Brisbane 2032 that they do bricks. $50 each whatever. It's worth it to go look for it one day with my son like I did 30yrs ago with my Dad.

I remember telling my younger brother that our parents had bought a brick with his name on it...he looked for his brick for nearly an hour that day.
