Yeah, nothing from what Allvin says makes it sound like substance abuse to me either.

As I point out, everything he said very much applies to just general mental health. But this market has pretty nasty rumours floating around and this release has done nothing by amplify it.
Also, a players first trip into league mandated recovery is not announced by the league. It's only subsequent trips... not that I think this is the case here.

Did Miller actually enter the NHLPA program? Players can seek help using their own resources and with the team's blessing, but I would assume that if it was substance related, the Canucks would have insisted he enter an NHLPA supported program.

Perhaps he has been shouldering too much of the load?

Not a Vancouver is a bad post but a crappy one none the less. A old friend, Canuck coworker passed away recently after collapsing from a seizure. His wife passed away two years ago after she and him were assaulted after leaving a game. Two sons. Just tragic. Way too young. No idea if the video will post but it's a short tribute from Shorthouse. https://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/674aa405...129_212311.mp4

Drance's rant about the Canucks and Vancouver media got me thinking. In summary, he countered Dhaliwal's framing of the Vancouver market getting to a lot of Vancouver players, with Drance saying that the current media in Vancouver is very soft, doesn't ask any hard questions to the coaches, players or management, and the Canucks management team also doesn't share anything to the media and fans. Basically, that the media in Vancouver is very easy on the team.
What do we think about the Calgary media? I think they're also soft on the Flames. They're not active propogandists for the team like the media in Edmonton are, but I don't recall the current media in Calgary being particularly 'tough'. Living in Toronto now, they are pretty rough on the Leafs lol.

I think the Calgary media is fine. The only real media reporting on this team tends to be Sportsnet, Flames Nation, and the Calgary Herald/Sun. All tend to be critical at times of players or teams but they don't attack anyone because they probably would like to be invited back in the dressing room.

Yeah, I think the last reporter who would ask questionable/controversial/hard questions in Calgary was Bruce Dowbiggin.

Are family members of players eligible to win 50/50 draws?!? Apparently so.

Don't see why not - she buys a ticket, she has the same chance of winning as anybody else.

Yeah, I don't have an issue with it either, but there are likely some people who are questioning it. I think it's a pretty cool story personally.
