I was surprised at this move and surprised it wasn't posted yet, but it seems like this is just a temporary move to keep them waiver eligible longer.

I've been pretty happy with both of them on this call up. Duehr is looking a lot more like he did when he earned his contract and Pelletier is much more impactful than he was last season.

I thought they both looked great.
The Wranglers play tonight and the Flames don't play until Saturday, so maybe it's just to get them into a game to keep their momentum going.

2 reasons....it extends their waiver eligibility a couple days and it also allows the team to accrue a few mose dollars in cap space at TD day, though that likely wont be necessary with the club swimming in space at this point.

There's also the holiday roster freeze to consider.
The freeze doesn't start until the 19th, but any player recalled after December 11 (today) can be sent down during the freeze. Otherwise, only players who are on an emergency recall can be sent down during the freeze.
