People who don't wash their produce before consuming are crazy people. Especially people who eat organic.

Depends on the pickling method. One with heat, it's a safer bet to be ok. One with a acid or salt mixture that's potentially too weak, something nasty could somehow survive.

For the shows my kids watch, why does the girl character always have some sort of flying power / ability / connection?
Paw Patrol - Skye - Uses a jet or helicopter
Spidey and his Amazing Friends - Gwen - Flying suit as Ghost Spider
PJ Masks - Amaya - Flying power as Owlette
Spirit Rangers - Summer - Transforms into a Hawk
I can't help but think it just caters to boys where they'll tolerate girl characters if they can do something cool like flying.

I assume it's because it's stereotypically an elegant power/ability for a female character? Plus many writers are kinda lame and just copy similar tropes and story lines and jokes over and over. It might not be intentional beyond, "Oh, that IP has something like that, we're going to have one too!"

Were zoolights always this lame or am I just becoming a grumpy old man?
I'm not mad at the price, I'm happy to consider it a donation to the zoo, but what a letdown. Granted I'm not exactly their target audience but I swear it used to be better

I've only gone to it once -- at least 20 years ago -- and it was pretty lame then.

We’ve been to a few Xmas parties there over the years and they have been good. Not sure what would be considered a good display in comparison?

I haven’t noticed a difference over the years I have gone. About the same each time.

To give you a little more validation, I prefer the Airdrie light display over zoo lights.

Hmmm was speaking to a colleague just now about the US marine acquittal thing and they informed me that I shouldn't use the word, 'homeless' now and it's been replaced with 'unhoused'. They couldn't explain to me why or when this started. Is this new?

I was in a presentation by the Mustard Seed recently where they try to use languge of "people experiencing homelessness" rather than homeless person. Trying to put value back in the individual and not have them be defined by their current housing status

Well, if I'm officially old, you may as well send it to AMA, I can pick it up while buying my membership

This generational stuff confuses me at times. I'm a late millennial (94') and yet I'm apart the same generation as people who were born in the 80's and I didn't really grow up off the same stuff they did. I'm pretty sure I have more in common with the older z'ers then I do with older millennials

it still shocks me that someone born in '94 would be posting on this board, then I do math and feel bad about how old I am.

I remember when I first signed up on here. I was 16. I found it when looking for Flames stuff on google. Mike Gould (TheScorpion) is younger than me and he's been on here for a while too

Yeah, yeah...millennials, always complaining about millennials.
Dont you have to go outside and do a kick-flip or something?
I belong to The Lost Generation. We're not 'X'ers and we're not millennials per se...I belong to...The Oregon Trail Generation! We got to watch Grandma die of Dysentery on the Trail! Damned Grandma...never boiled her water! She was a stubborn ol' broad....
