That's a tough way to start your argument - I don't think there are many people who would agree that this roster is more suited to a wide-open, east/west style of game. Would it be good for Huberdeau? Almost certainly. Would it result in more scoring? Probably. But if this team opened it up, they would give up far more offensive chances than they would create, IMO. This isn't a team that can outscore the opposition, it's only hope is to play a low event game and try to win some one-goal games.

And without stellar goaltending how would that be working out? The team would be dead last in the NHL.

By the same token, how do you think this team would fare, trying to outscore other teams with bad goaltending?

The bottom line is that he's getting more out of the team than anyone expected. Tough to criticize results.
