I was thinking about this recently as it happened to my brother. Ultimately, it must be some sort of insurance the courier has that covers the cost of a replacement for you when they misdeliver? Do they have recourse to try and retrieve the item from the place they delivered it to improperly? The vendor certainly isn't eating this.
But then, how does the insurance system for these things work? Is this tied to the homeowners insurance pool, increasing rates?
The complexity of our modern society for trivial #### gives me profound megalophobia.

I received a FedEx notice that the package was delivered and when I looked at the photo it was definitely not my front door so I immediately call FedEx and they start a case. It was within an hour of the delivery notice so the hope was the driver would go back and get it but after three days of no response it was clear that FedEx isn't getting it back so I contact Valve and tell them what happened and they then open up a case with FedEx. The photo is ample evidence of misdelivery so I imagine FedEx has insurance that and they will reimburse Valve. Meanwhile Valve is sending me out a replacement unit. I guess someone gets an expensive piece of hardware for free at the end of the day as they clearly decided to keep it. Same with my other order which was a smaller Amazon order.

Quite a few people I've met said they chose Jeep because they liked it and it fit with their lifestyle. They enjoy the vehicle while they have it but don't seem to look back once they've upgraded to something else.
I honestly believe that the Jeep marketing team is quietly doing a ridiculously good job.

I always thought it was against the law to open up a letter/package that wasn't addressed to you. I also thought it was against the law to destroy a letter/package that wasn't addressed to you. You were always supposed to try and send it back via the original method of delivery. Is this understanding incorrect?
I mean, how they can truly enforce things like that and the headache associated with enforcing it... maybe that's the issue?

They're the only ones.
Thing is, I was a 'Jeep Guy' for quite a while, I've owned 4 in my lifetime and I've loved every single one of them. Even the last one which I hated with a passion until I learned to love it.
Jeep Patriot! Glorified gutless station wagon. I loved it. It was great.
When that one aged out and I needed a new car I was pretty simple. I liked that one, I'll just buy a new one.
Current Jeeps are just such crap. Crappy plastic fitted by disinterested children in far off lands and then sold to sentimental people for way, way too much money.
I think I've told this story before, I rented a Wrangler in Hawaii to drive the highway to Hanna and that thing was such a monumental heap of crap...I soothed myself with the explanation...'its just a rental.'
Yeah. Then my sister bought one.
We traded cars for a weekend so she could attend a Christmas market, she took my Tiguan and I took her Wrangler and she didnt want to give my VW back.
"Its so smooth and drives so nicely and everything works and its so nice!"
Yeah. And this Wrangler feels like its going to shake itself apart on the smoothest roads around...my brain would exit my skull if you took this thing on a rough road! As it is, my spine hurts. Who designed this suspension?

I am pretty curious about the lifestyle a Jeep fits. Masochism?

Usually something along the lines of Jeep culture and being a little outdoorsy. But yes, probably an element of masochism in there too.

The driving around town with your dog that wears a bandana, might drive down a gravel alley way for off-roading lifestyle.

It's definitely illegal but just like porch pirates, there is little appetite to investigate these crimes.
It would be nice if these delivery photos would pan out a bit so you could identify where something was misdelivered.

That's rough. I always wondered if these delivery systems put a GPS tag on the photo when they take a picture of the delivery. Though I suppose it's way easier (and maybe less expensive in some cases) to deal with an insurance claim, then it is to try and retrieve a misdelivered package.

Why is cancelling a print that never prints the most difficult thing to do on earth?

"open print queue, select administrator, cancel print job, select 'use printer off-line' restart print spooler, pray to PC LOAD LETTER deity, select 'use printer on-line'" -Woohoo!(sometimes)

We simply don't have enough movies like Office Space.
Everything these days follows the same dang format and it's boring.

Not a chance, the liability would be insane. Cause then you have random people showing up at other random people's house going "Where's my $800 Steam Deck you bastard!" - and maybe the GPS is off by like one house so that guy doesn't even know what you're talking about, or maybe he did just keep it and will never admit it, either way now there's a big altercation and eventually at one of these someone gets shot or stabbed or something.

Printing in general as really not come along with the rest of society.
Pretty much any time I print something personal its when it just never comes back.
Also Excel, why are the default settings the most idiotic you could imagine. Yes I want to print this spreadsheet 47 screens left to right, never all the columns on one page, no one would even want that. AI, get on printing settings.

You're making this way harder than it needs to be.
If 'Cancel print job' doesn't work:
1. Run Services.msc and stop the Print Spooler service.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS, select all the files inside the PRINTERS folder, and press the [Delete] key.
3. Once the files are deleted, start the Print Spooler service.
