That's a tall and not so wide seating bowl. I like.

FWIW, these are the plans I had to sign out for an hour at a time a few months ago. Very happy they're more widely available now.

It's more fun if you count down from 18,400.

I'm going to miss the concourse bottlenecks.

Can someone tell me if the washroom situation is better, or worse than the current one?

Not sure how it could be worse but having 2 concourse levels has to help.

Whatever.

I'm sad it's a smaller rink.

Going to that cavern in Montreal is something special and I wish we were doing that.

That’s awesome the building looks like Flames flickering at night. I need to get to a game at the Dome one last time, first time with my son who’s 6 years old before it closes.

If you zoom in on the top plan topfiverecords posted, you'll see all of the facilities available to the players - NHL/AHL and WHL. It's pretty impressive - details right down to a "kick around" area. I have no idea what's in the bowels of the Dome right now, but I suspect this new rink is right up there with the best in the league. Very nice.

By my count...
  • 28 rows in the lower bowl
  • 16 rows in the upper bowl (5 below the concourse and 11 above)
  • 50 suites + 1 double suite at centre ice behind the benches (presumably the owners' box)
  • Also on the suite level: 18 theatre boxes and 10 four-seat tables (similar to what they have in Edmonton)

One thing missing from the previous design is the Balcony/Press Level seating section on the side opposite the press boxes. I believe this would have been similar to the Gondola seats that overhang the rink in Detroit.

Like with both Edmonton and Detroit, there will be Club areas on both sides of the rink below the main concourse level. They will be accessible from inside the seating bowl around row 19.

As with all new arenas, there will also be a club on the Event level behind the benches where fans can watch the home team walk to the ice.

The building also give the Flames, Wranglers, and Hitmen their own dressing rooms and team spaces. It also provides dressing rooms for visiting teams for each league as well, so there could be 6 different teams in the building at one time. This will also be useful for hosting big tournaments.

It looks like they fixed the big problem from Edmonton and there will be a lot of washrooms available. Many are marked as "Flex", which should allow them to designate them as Men's or Women's depending on the demographics of the crowd in the building. On the upper concourse, there will be two large men's rooms on either side of the rink plus a lot of smaller women's and flex washrooms around the concourse.

There's a whole lot of bathrooms, thats for sure.

As far as public facing (assumed open for public during events) I counted:

Men's Toilets - 21
Men's Urinals - 39
Womens Toilets - 86
Flex Toilets - 24 (these can be either male or female depending on the event)
UniSex Singles - 16

Suites Concourse:
Men's Toilets - 11
Men's Urinals - 16
Womens Toilets - 40
Flex Toilets - 6
UniSex Singles - 10

Upper Concourse:
Men's Toilets - 19
Men's Urinals - 34
Womens Toilets - 56
Flex Toilets - 46
UniSex Singles - 2

Club Level:
Men's Toilets - 5
Men's Urinals - 10
Womens Toilets - 23
Flex Toilets - 7
UniSex Singles - 0

TOTAL:
Men's Toilets - 56
Men's Urinals - 99
Womens Toilets - 205
Flex Toilets - 83
UniSex Singles - 28

TOTAL All together: 471

89 urinals seems like a low number for an 18,000 seater?

What does the dome currently have?

The bathroom situation is so simple, gender neutral bathrooms with private full doors then a row of sinks opposite. The need for men's or women's bathrooms that flex depending on the event is needless work.

Family bathrooms with changing stations etc can still be scattered throughout the venue.

Remember that the flex washrooms turn more what would be urinals into toilets.

Also, there's a lot more washrooms for staff and media.
