Anaheim needs some leadership. Low acquisition cost and oodles of cap space this year and next. Don't think it's really a big deal at all.

Creates a ton of flexibility for New York to go do something else though.

That's $8M that just opened up and I do wonder if they are hunting for a big acquisition now.

They have all their 1sts, pieces like Kakko, Chytil, Schneider, Miller as U-25 pieces that rebuilding teams might have interest in, and prospects like Perreault, Othmann, etc.

For Anaheim it's just Verbeek doing what he wants to do and adding more Truculence to the team and they have $19M of cap space so not like they have anything to worry about this season or next.

I would want to see Klapka playing in every Anaheim game if this trade goes down. I don't think anyone else can really handle Trouba (and Gudas, btw, plus whomever else they may have). If someone gets rocked, I would want a response from Calgary.
