Dallas recently put Tyler Seguin on the IR and so they have a ton of cap space. Timing is kind of interesting there.

Buffalo has to do something. I'm not sure this is that something.

Can't see Dallas wasting LTIR space on Trouba.
Also imagine the Flames doing this to a player. We would be blacklisted.

The Rangers could dunk him in the Hudson until the bubbles stopped or introduce him to Jimmy Hoffa and not face any consequences.

Detroit is my guess. They are now 5th from last with a .462 points percentage and think they probably just want to make a move to try to stop the bleeding at this point.

Yup, they will always be a top FA destination, no matter what.

Copied from DFO:
Most recent Rangers’ captains:
Jacob Trouba — time with team seemingly done w/ 1.5 years left on his deal
Ryan McDonagh — traded
Ryan Callahan — traded
Chris Drury — bought out to end his career

Yeah, no matter what, it's New York... A concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there's really nothing you can't do, the streets will make you feel brand new.

Well then you’re not stuck if you mutually agree to separate. There’s no difference between a NTC and a NMC with respect to that.

Correct if it is a full NTC ............but no one signs those and leaves the door open to being waived with no control on who claims them.
All NTC clauses (afaik), have a set amount of teams that player has to agree waive for...that list is often submitted yearly, and then all other teams are fair game to be dealt to.

Understood, but if Trouba wants to go to any team that the OP mentioned and New York likes the offer, then it should be cool. I don’t see why there should be a difference between having a NTC or NMC if that is the case.

He's expensive, no longer pulling the weight of his contract and they need to get some cap space to sign their goalie to a ridiculous contract.
