I wonder if it has something to do with Tomlin's coaching. Clearly he's a natural leader that has a rare ability to even get malcontents to perform but once these guys go to teams with different coaches these players just don't seem to buy-in. Green Bay is a different situation where their WR's just haven't played well on other teams (besides Adams who did have his 2nd best statistical season with the Raiders but that was with Carr) which was probably an effect of Favre and Rodgers just making them look better than they are.

Speaking of people lacking success without a Head Coach...

U.C.L.A. and Eric Bienemy are parting ways. So with the struggles in Washington last year, this last gig and his time at the University of Colorado it does seem that he's been ineffective away from Andy Reid. With the Chiefs he was successful in implementing Reids scheme and getting the players to execute it. But perhaps he's lacking the higher level ability to create new ideas and how to design the plays.

I have seen clips on twitter the last few days that pretty much confirm that it's Tomlins coaching that get these guys going.

Pickens has issues, but Tomlin shows patience with him and identifies his struggles and pushes him to be better.

To be honest, I have thought Tomlin was more of a motivator, but he is a smart coach with details. He called the strip sack of Burrow in the meeting with his players.

Still hear Chris Berman every time I read that name.

Steelers just know when a receiver is no longer worth the hassle. Tomlin for sure has his warts, but he knows how to keep a lid on some of those guys and get the maximum out of them ... the moment that is not the case anymore, they just move on and that's often the end for that receiver. If you're a GM and the Steelers try to sell you a receiver, it's time to burn that phone ... it's just not going to end well. Emmanuel Sanders was a rare exception, and Juju Smith-Schuster at least had one solid season in KC (and won a ring) ... but those were the guys that left through free agency. Those who were traded? It's not pretty. Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson ... and yeah, I fully expect George Pickens to join that list at some point.

Hard to say. The Steelers have been able to extract a lot from guys who they drafted. Might be them being able to draft risky personalities and get them to assimilate better than other teams. There's been a couple guys like Hardman and JuJu leave the Chiefs and struggle only to come back. So maybe team culture let's certain personalities exist one place but not another.

AB was okay with Arians...but eventually came unglued the next year with Todd Bowles..but the CTE there is very real.

Are we gonna act like TNF hasn't been better than either SNF or MNF this year?

Who?

GB?

Possible I guess but the GB D is pretty stout this year...at least so far.

Granted the Lions can look like a video game at times so it could happen.

it was pretty comfortable win for Detroit in GB a few weeks ago. People thought the Lions couldn't move the ball in the cold. Don't see GB stopping them indoors. Lions play 14 of 17 game indoors this year which is nuts.

Lions have 11 guys who would normally play front 7 on the injured list...most of those since the teams last met. Lions looked very average a week ago at home.

IMO Green Bay will try and run the ball a ton at that front 7 and probably to a decent degree of success.... which will limit Detroit possessions which then limits opportunities to score.

Lions being only a 3 pt favorite says it all....home team always gets a FG from the book to start...so essentially this game is a pick em.

Packers winning outright wouldnt be a huge surprise IMO...not expecting it as evidenced by my wagering tonight.

Terrion Arnold may have a PI every game this year.

I can't tell if he is overly aggressive or just not good. Fan see why he dropped in the draft

Packers wishing they had just given Goff the TD to begin with. Instead, the Lions burn most of the rest of the clock and get the TD anyway.

If Love can keep the turnovers down the Packers might be a surprise Super Bowl team.

Would be hilarious as well seeing Rodgers being tossed away by the Jets.
