Yup - and I'm pretty sure the reason former AGs Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr are on Pash Katel's "deep state actors" list is because they shot down or slow walked Trump's worst impulses (as vile as those guys are). This time he has yes-woman Pam Bondi (after losing Gaetz).

Think about that statement. Its basically saying Hunter gets off for criminal acts cause ol' pop thinks he's a good kid -and/or- the Justice Department is crooked and works for the president.
From a strictly political (again not court of law) lens this just sewered Dems with the general (non-hyper partisan) populace
|
I doubt it sewered Dems at all. It's a long time til the next election and it won't be Biden running. And it has nothing to do with the price of eggs.
Now the fact Hunter Biden would have been sentenced is irrelevant. What's relevant is the fact that the Republicans engaged in a years long investigation of him (in which their biggest witness was charged with lying to the FBI) and then charged him with the most insignificant of things (failing to fill in a form correctly) because that's what they found. So it's obvious what would have happened going forward. So shut it down now, not because there is some massive conspiracy to hide wrongdoing, but to prevent targetted harassment and prosecution.

Is he still going to call him Meatball Ron when he's part of his cabinet?
"Hey Meatball, what is the Russian threat level today?"

'Does that mean that we can adopt the Canadian health care system and guarantee health care to all, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and spend 50% less per capita on health care?'
… sure seems like he understands that.

??? It will?
I mean, he'd no longer be the governor of Florida, but then he's the secretary of ####ing defense instead.
I'll say this, at least it's his wheelhouse. Thank god he's not being considered for secretary of education or anything because he's an absolute monster in that area.

Imagine defending the cost of American healthcare against a Canadian system of payment...
that's as a percent of GDP, and the American GDP is an ungodly amount compared to Canada.
I give a regular lecture on the issues with the American healthcare system, and it's completely out of whack because pricing for many services is double what it is in other countries, as are pharmaceuticals (sometimes much more than double). Lack of pricing transparency (essentially a blank price tag that gets filled in after the service), increasing consolidation and merger (antitrust issues), and ridiculous amount of overhead spent on administration due to the unnecessariliy complex insurance system; these are the reasons why it's so expensive in America. A single payer system would fix every one of those issues and bring it in line with the other countries you see on the graph. That would do a LOT to reduce budgetary concerns, especially with issues in medicare, as well as providing access to a lot of people who simply don't use their insurance because the deductibles and other add on costs are prohibitive to regular and preventative use.

Speeding off in an E-bike seems like a pretty ideal getaway in NYC.

Sounds like he used a bike share, so if he didn't steal it, he may have left a trail. Doesn't sound very pro, but I've never done this before so just going by all I learned from movies.

You might be surprised at who the poor and working-class regard as ‘the rich.’ It’s a lot bigger group than just billionaires.

Time for the revolution to begin, brothers and sisters!
And this one won’t be like all the others, where the middle-class malcontents who incite revolution with the pen wind up getting dragged to the guillotine by the mob. Gonna be totally different this time.

Could have created a burner account and then abandoned the bike without ending the trip, or loading the account with a one and done payment method?

If you know enough about how to use tech and how to attempt to evade it, I kinda feel like you would know a bike share is a bad idea. Even without the perps phone, You now have a GPS log of the bike location, so you have a way to track the route, and scour video along the way. You can potentially see the direction the bike renter came from on a camera in the area, and perhaps unmasked.
Now, if they had done what you suggested, they basically have everything they need to trace the phone back to origin(home, activation location if it's a burner). And if the perp had another phone on them, you can match locations of the burner phone to the one moving with it, and track that one.
And if the bike was stolen, well it was probably still tracking location and that could be tied to the cell signal that moved with it.
If you are going to do this in a big city with cameras and cell towers that can locate you, your best bet is zero technology on person. Tech will rat you out.

That ain’t the way to handle it in a functioning society.
