Would Liljegren be an upgrade on Pachal or Miromanov? I thought he had some great potential, but coaches just don't trust him enough.
PS: This seems like a classic Treliving, sign a player to a contract, and have instant regret. Glad that's not our problem anymore.
|
Actually, signing him may make him more marketable.

Nothing against Bedard, he's going to be just fine.

That is a pretty hot take. Celebrini seems to have exceeded expectations early on. He's really quick and has a great shot. With Bedard it simply seems to be a sophomore slump. He's got the hands and feet, but his size and ability to dodge a hit, are questionable. It was the question coming into his year really, so it's not surprising we're seeing a slump. Good players tend to rise to the occasion, so if I were to guess I'd think he'll adjust. In the mean time someone may take off his head though.

Celebrini will undoubtedly be an excellent player. I expect they both will be.
I wish we had both.
Although I note, that if Celebrini had one less point in the 15 games he's played, he'd have the exact same pace that Bedard has over his career to date.
Or if he goes scoreless in his next game.

Haha, man I love Rhett - listening to Barn Burner this morning he alluded that Vladar could be starting tonight because there's another GM in town to scout him... When asked to elaborate he basically replies with "No reason, just a hunch".

Well, to be frank, every GM would choose to not lose (or be "scared" of losing, I guess, as you put it?) any trade to another GM.

I also figured Vladar would start tonight since he actually played with Gaudreau, and had the special gear made for the game.

I mean, they typically switch off anyway unless one of them (usually Wolf) had a stellar game. That definitely wasn't the case for Wolf last outing.

Columbus can really score.
Not sure Vladar getting lit up by them is showcasing him.

I agree. I think despite losing their top player sadly they're in ok shape. Got some pieces. Wadell was good in Carolina and evasan is a great coach. There record almost same as flames

Of course there will be ups and downs. Patience is often key with their development as they don't all simply light it up and continue an upward trajectory.

Exactly.
When I look at Macklin the NHL player, on TV or interviews, it’s almost like I don’t recognize him.
When I talk to my Macklin my Nephew, he’s just like of my teenage son, his friends, or an of my other teenage nephews.
No matter how polished or poised these guys seem, they are still dumbass teenage boys, with all the regular dumbass crap that we go thru at that age, with the added pressure of being a pro athlete, under a microscope.
Given the conditions, Syd’s ability to stay consistent in the limelight so young, it truly amazing.

Sean Monahan outscored Nathan Mackinnon in their first 4 seasons in the league.
Which one was a franchise definining centre, and which was just a very good player?
All this Bedard negativity talk is silly.

We will have to be careful with Wolf, so I do see keeping Vladar in the cards.
Unless we get a 2nd or something better.
If we keep getting shelled would rather protect Wolf. Also, Vladar gives us a better shot to finish in the bottom 9

I mean, if we wanna go full scorched earth for the remainder of the season we could use Cooley to shelter Wolf and see what happens.
