The problem seems to be that there just aren’t enough asteroids.

Not thrilled with Gomez at CB...of course Konate gets injured right before the big match.

Closer game the last 20 minutes of that half, Liverpool probably should have ended it in the first 25, absolutely dominated them everywhere but the scoreboard.

Yup. I have a bad feeling about this. VVD with a narrow miss and a post, Szobunspellable with a very narrow miss...and Diaz with a couple of other good chances.

But being wasteful in front of goal usually comes back to haunt.

Especially since City have 0 shots on goal and Kelleher's hands are probably getting cold which is a recipe for disaster.

So City get a foothold, the game is crying out for De Bruyne, and Pep chooses to finally bring him on after they concede a penalty to leave them no chance. Baldy really is washed.

Is KDB washed?
How do you not play him in a match this important?

Crazy decision. Honestly feel like fans could do better managing teams in most sports.

I think he's coming back from an injury? I cant remember.

Haaland without so much as a sniff.

Kelleher made 1 save. It was a good one, but it was the only one.

Fantastic performance by Liverpool. Didn’t give city a sniff other then the one mistake.

That should have been conclusive. Van Dijk could have had a hat-trick, the only criticism I can give is that they were very wasteful in front of goal.

Gotta tighten that up.

But beyond that? City defended desperately. They do NOT like being pressed. Even at the end there Walker was gassed and Ruben was just desperate.

Their midfield is too old to play all of KDB, Silva, and Gundogen, and I don’t think KDB can do 90 anymore.

But even if he can't go 90 surely he can do 30? Not sure it would have mattered, but for them to finally start to get some control of the game and not bring on their most dangerous player as far as chance creation goes, no idea what was going through Pep's head.

Ya for sure, he should have been on shortly after Doku was on and was driving Liverpool back. Pep was too busy showing his 6 fingers to the crowd though.

It's nowhere near as grim as the last Mourinho days at Chelsea, but it does have a bit of that vibe right now for Pep. Team looks broken, manager can't do anything right, long season to go.
