Man I can't believe the Oluwaseyi chance that hit both posts. Classic concacaf away game where we just have to hope for no serious injuries or red cards.

Between that Ahmed, I just hope we don’t regret this. We need a goal to show for these chances.

Tani is looking very Tosaint Ricketts to me. Lots of pace, just can't finish.
Suriname don't look threatening at all. Canada are the better squad just look clunky out there.#Wouldn't be shocked to see them get 1-2 goals in the second half.

A CONCACAF win away is good enough for me. I'll take it.

Not the kind of game that attracts new fans, but since it was only on OneSoccer during a busy hockey night it wouldn't have had many viewers anyway.

I feel like my analysis of the recent Panama friendly could be copy/pasted onto this game. Nice to see them once again gut out a narrow win on the road but it wasn't very fun to watch.

I agree with this. This is such a nothingburger.

Who even still cares? The whole thing has been pretty petty from all sides.

Completely random thought; I was noodling around on transfermarkt and learned that Omar Marmoush has Canadian citizenship through his parents. I don't think it is ever realistic to think that he's "one that got away" but darn, that sure would've been something

He was approached by Herdman years ago when he was first signed to a Bundesliga contract. From what I recall, he stated he was flattered that Canada were interested but that his priority was to represent Egypt. His parents acquired citizenship after working in Canada for around 5 years, I think.

It’s old news but Canada has to continue to work on players that have potential and likely multiple eligible countries and get them fully capped as soon as possible. The rules are right there and understood.
Of course, the CSA has to be better and the provincial associations have to do better.
We cannot afford to lose any more players like Owen Hargreaves due to ineptitude. He’s carved out a nice niche on EPL coverage though!
I personally could have played for 3 countries and I would have moved with the first…likely Canada if I was young enough. CSA should not be waiting for recognition from other countries before capping players.

It's so frustrating to see the national team play all their games in one city and have the stadium be so empty....

Could see 5 goals for Canada and a red or two for Suriname at this rate.

Hell of a first half from Canada. Completely dominant against a supposedly decent Suriname.

Are the semis also 2 legs?
Is there going to be a Canada supporter section at SoFi?

I believe it's a single game against Mexico.

Not directly related, but given the history: Herdman has resigned as Toronto FC coach.
