Foegele, for his part, uses the universal get out of jail free card when it comes to the Oilers. “I didn’t get to play but Mavi and pissy are the best EvEr!11!!” And “I heard that no one was digging in right now and I heard that ‘the best players ever!1!’ were going to mandate oilers only play with 2 players v 5 and there would be no ice time.”
I wonder if anyone stands up to the glitter twins?

Lol no one on that team is even in the stratosphere of the Selke discussion. Deal with it donkeys.
Of course they'll band together to cast their votes for him and then call it a storyline despite no one else around the league even having him on their radars.

One step at a time media guys. He has a long way to go to get himself out of the worst defensive player in the league conversation.

Noted Edmonton-based Public Restroom Feng-Shui consultant David Staples and the rest of the lickspittle Oilers media mob would vote Darnell Nurse for the Lady Byng and not even blush.

That’s kind of a crap story TBH. Of course the part about wanting out because of the ice hogs rings true. But aside from that it’s a bunch of Oiler ball washing. And I have my doubts about any NHL players saying McDavid and Draisaitl are the two best players “in the world”. That phrase is a media creation.

Sounds like Foegele is more confident in his ability to make new friends than McDavid is.

I can’t wait to use that on some Oiler fans. I already enjoyed the mental gymnastics when you say MacKinnon. They see all the Leaf hype and assume you’re thinking Matthew’s (I guess?), but Jagr is awesome because he’s irrefutable!

Jagr is inevitable. He is Time. He is Fate.

I see the Oilers McPP'ed their way to victory against another non-playoff team tonight. Looks like they also needed some 3 on 3 to do it? Clearly this means it'll be smooth sailing straight to the Cup finals for team destiny. Parade back on!
What an overrated bunch o' losers.

I hope that they continue stringing some wins like this. Build up the hype. At the deadline, throw more picks away on rentals.
They don't have the team to challenge for a cup now, and I prefer them to keep chasing it, re-signing McDavid and continuing into mediocrity. That's how I see them now. They are too old, don't have anything coming through the pipe, and have a long history of not drafting well. I want them to continue trading away futures and spinning their wheels until they are so stuck in the mud again like before.
The Oilers remind me of inexperienced winter drivers. The drivers that when they get stuck, they panic and floor the accelerator, digging themselves deep into the snow, instead of stopping and trying to 'rock' their car out of the situation. I hope the media continues to write overly positive articles about them. I hope they continue getting some breaks on calls. I hope they continue squeaking just enough wins to make them spend more futures on a terribly constructed team. Just like Connor said, "Whatever you have left, dig in now!"

I do like what you're saying, but I honestly hope they never win a game again as long as I'm alive.

No matter what they're heading towards suckville because of how many futures they've sacrificed for deadline adds that haven't paid off.
This year the two guys are dragging that team by the ears and it's taking PPs and 3 v 3 skills comps to collect points. They have like 3 regulation wins this year.
Everything that was going for them last year has eiither lost a step or is much worse.
They're not set up to win any more and best pieces are likely past their best before dates.

Barely beat a non playoff team and looked like hot garbage doing it. But the Stanley Cup parade is back on.

Poor darlings have to play a back to back today. But wait, their opponent also played last night. And has farther to travel. Crisis averted.
