People who walk side-by-side in a public space that lack the social awareness that God gave a billy goat to make room for oncoming foot traffic.

Tighten it up or drop back, because option 3 is me walking over you while you're flat on your ass.

How useless Best Buy's website has become. I want to know if you have an item in store and would prefer to sift through results quickly, now you have countless "online" only options clogging it up. Garbage.

There should be a “Best Buy only” button you can click, or at there is on the app.

The en####ification of online shopping is real. Remember when Amazon was a useful site for browsing for the best-rated or most suitable products, instead of a wall of recommended/paid product placements?

Yeah, it's not just best buy or amazon. Walmart, Costco, basically everywhere has decided to replicate the temu model instead of operating a proper online store. You can't "window shop" online anymore at all, almost impossible to even pull up proper comparisons. I only navigate straight to a product i already know I want to buy it now.

I tried clicking the "pick up in store" box, but that didn't mean ####. They'll order it in and then let you drive in to the store and pick up.

But there is an "online only" box. Complete opposite of what everyone needs and wants. I wonder if this approach makes them more money or did they just make it more annoying and useless for everyone trying to give them business.

I feel like I bring this up every few weeks but the lack of zipper merging in this city blows my mind.

On Tuesday I had someone straddle the two lanes to purposely not let me by. Ok, that's fine, my intent is not to cut in line but rather merge at the end of the lane like the giant sign on Memorial tells you to.

The problem with the early mergers is, on a busy day like Tuesday, the right lane of eastbound Memorial west of of 10th St. backs up past the exit to 14th St. southbound which now adds more cars to a single lane of traffic. So while Mr. Early-merge-and-straddle-the-lanes thinks he's being polite, he's actually causing a further back up.

Anyone who is trying to enforce "politeness" on others is by definition not being polite.

Memorial is bad for that with all the construction. Go to the end of the lane, merge in, it’s that simple. If you’re in the lane that’s being merged into, let the people at the end of the other lane go in front of you. It costs you nothing, reduces their stress, and ensures both lanes flow steadily without one coming to an abrupt halt as people try to squeeze in.

You know what people don’t do anymore? Wave. I always wave when someone lets me in, zipper merges or not. But I maybe get 1/10 in return. Maybe.

I honestly don’t think people in Calgary, maybe Canada or maybe even just any city where traffic isn’t routinely insane understand what “polite” actually means. They “enforce” politeness by being total #######s all. the. time.

I can cross 5 lanes in rush hour over the Bay Bridge while motorcycles are lane splitting to make an exit into San Francisco easier than I can merge over one lane on Calgary 90% of the time. People here are trash drivers.

I'm not sure why they bother with those big "X# of Minutes to 'X' Road" signs on Deerfoot if they're not even going to be close to accurate.

Are they no longer reporting 15 mins to downtown from Airdrie?

I guess we are truly a big city now. I've noticed the same thing, and I always make a point of giving a wave.

Last time i waved at someone (just last week), they were so unfamiliar with it that they must have thought I flipped them off. They drove up beside me irate and flipped me off.

Politeness is at an all time low, for sure. I still wave every time but damn if that wasn't a bit jarring.

Drives me ####ing crazy, right up there with people not acknowledging you or saying hello when you walk past them on a quite residential street.

I get not saying hello when walking downtown, but when you are on a quite street be polite FFS

I think your problem is you're on a quite street and you want to be on a quiet street. Try again and report back.

Oh I always wave, but that's partially because I feel a little bad after driving by the 100+ dumb-dumbs the merged early.

Full disclosure, being Sunnyside residents means the construction is 100% to our benefit, but my god it's a disaster right now. The people that put up with that mess every day are saints.
