Christmas is only too commercialized if you choose to celebrate it that way
Christmas is awesome

And the idea that it’s “become” too commercialized seems silly. I get that some people here are so old that they were there for the invention of the wheel, but Christmas has been a commercialized thing for almost 200 years.
If anything it’s better now because you can totally avoid the commercialization of it easier than ever.

Christmas should be about spending time with family and friends.

Our gift budget is $500 for everybody. We mostly just make cookies these days to give out since nobody actually wants things at our age.

Yeah Nah, it sucks.
I was thankful once my kids reached the age of understanding it was all made up, Santa wasn't real.
And don't even get me start on the whole putting Christ back in Christmas bull####.
Such an awful time of year.
I am 52 if I want something I go out and buy it. When my friends and I want to see each other we do. We don't need a made up season so celebrate and see each other, we use a group text to set it up.
Also Turkey sucks, it's like a down grade from Chicken which isn't anything special.

The only thing I love about Christmas is that I get 10 days off work.

Shrimp are great. They clean up the dirtiest trash we dump in the oceans, then there is an entire economy around selling them to people. To eat. For some reason.

Eight year-old me f-cking loved Christmas in Australia. 25°C outside, it was glorious.
Then my parents revealed in my Christmas card that they'd bought me my first computer from Future Shop (yes, I still remember the exact specs) and I wanted to go home IMMEDIATELY.

Some people's love language is giving gifts.
I love shopping for people including even hitting the malls.
People can celebrate however they want.

Back then, 720 MB of hard drive space was also apparently quite impressive. I can't exactly remember what it cost, but it was something stupid like $2,400. Funny enough, that 16-bit card couldn't actually emulate a Sound Blaster 16, so I would have to set NHL 96 PC to use Sound Blaster Pro or older.
Oh yeah, and it included a 14" Daewoo VGA monitor!
