This is what Wolf has done at every level, all of his life so far.

People doubting him because he's 6 feet tall hasn't stopped him yet

What I really like about this version of the Flames is that we have a reliable 4th line, and I won't have heart attack when they are on the ice in the dying minutes of the game.

Flames have odd new wrinkle on PP. With possession in the O-zone, Zary loops out and re-enters with speed.

Didn’t like the re-signing of Rooney, but I think we now see why we signed him originally.

I haven’t seen many people, if anyone, bring this up yet but… if we keep this up is Huska a Jack Adams finalist?

I noticed this too. This is what they do with Mcdavid sometimes and I think it could be a cool idea. Give Zary some speed and he attacks the flat footed defender with some of his moves.

Flames in 8th spot overall in goals against - that's something that I did not see coming this season. Goal differential at zero is good for 15th right now. It really is a really solid game plan of paying attention to defence and putting in 60 minute efforts (or as close to as they can get).

To be doing this with 2 relative inexperienced goalies (one being a rookie) and an overall inexperienced defensive corps, is really impressive. How Huska has this team performing should be drawing a lot of Jack Adams nods at this point in time (and I don't think that the Jack Adams has anything to do with bad luck in subsequent years). It will be really interesting to see if Huska can continue having this team competing so consistently hard with that focus on playing solid defence the rest of the way through this season. If he does, he would certainly have to be one of the favourites for the Jack Adams, along with Wolf being one of the favourites for both the Calder and the Vezina.

Good drafting…good development….good trades.
Very true! 1987-88: Nieuwendyk, Roberts, Hull, MacInnis, Suter, Murzyn, Vernon, all 24 or younger. (Plus some that didn't work out so well, like Doug Dadswell and Brian Glynn.)

That was the most promising Flames' team I've ever watched. This one is… interesting! Zary, Bahl, Coronato, Pospisil, Klapka, and Wolf, all in the same age group, with a dynamite AHL roster waiting in the wings and some very promising juniors.

Flames are 10th in the NHL and 2nd in the Division but have the 26th and 27th ranked powerplay and penalty kill respectively.

That is Wild pun intended. If they could ever figure out special teams……

Stat they showed tonight with his 500th assist.

He ties Johnny Gaudreau for 2nd in his draft class for assists.

Still hurts when you see those things pop up.
