Yeah, I've been bringing up his name for eons it seems. I still also really like Cole Sillinger.

Not saying this would happen, but having Andersson and Coleman (retain on both or whatever) would be significantly better for them this year and next compared to having Wyatt. I am also not saying that would be a fair trade, just a thought process.

Johnston is off to a rough start, but that guy gives me elite two way vibes. Like a centre that can score 30-35 while dominate on the #1 PK for a decade. I love the player. No chance Dallas moves him though

He actually got off to a really good start to the season over PPG until he got hurt but he's returning tonight I think. I would definitely take a flyer on him as he's pretty talented.

I'd stop wondering, Kent Johnson is a large part of their future. He's still 22 and just coming back from a injury. He'll be given every chance to succeed.

Was going to see the Blades against the Tigers the other night but both Lindstrom & Basha were out injured. Then a snow storm prevented me from going anyway but thats beside the point. What I did read was that Cayden is in Columbus with their team doctors. IMO, I think surgery is inevitable.
The only "official" item I found to corroborate this was the WHL injury report

It’s early in the season still so things could absolutely change but, so far, most of the upcoming UFAs that we all assumed would be traded by the upcoming TDL are likely not to return much. Obviously Mantha is done for the season so that’s just bad luck but he was not trending to return much in a trade. Kuzmenko is not lighting it up and he likely would be tough to trade for anything of value - and he would likely require full retention in any trade. Barry looks like the odd man out on defence and will also likely not return much at all. The only upcoming UFA that could result in a decent return at this point is Vladar.
If Conroy looks at how this year went, does he bother signing players with the intention of likely trading them at the deadline? I guess they also serve as depth options but I think they should be increasing the number of younger players on the team next year. I hope they will have roster spots available for guys like Klapka, Honzek, Poirier, Parekh or Brz to make the team… or whichever other younger players impress in camp or on the Wranglers.
I just think the flames will already have potential trade chips for next year’s deadline (Andersson and/or Coleman). And I think they have plenty of young players ready to compete internally for roster spots rather than sign vets to take those spots or create competition in camp. I know the old saying of “have to steal a spot from a vet” but the reality we see in the NHL is that a young player can out-perform a vet and still have to wait for the spot to become available due to injury. The spots do eventually become available because injuries happen but I would rather skip the wait and see the young players battle each other for those spots next year.

I agree with what you said. I think in net and on D the plan would probably work. Forward is a different story though. The organization is very light on offensive players. Might have to trade some goalie or D depth to get it.

Fits what I heard as well.
Injury is far worse than the media let on.
I mean he was "supposed to be" good for the combine, they then pushed that back to regular season and now he still hasn't touched the ice.

So glad the Flames stayed away from Lindstrom. I recall a bunch of us saying it would be a massive mistake to trade up to take him.
Injuries are one thing but back injuries that young and being as big as he is that’s a huge red flag.

Yeah I can't see them moving him.
Bourque is maybe the one you could shake loose.
I do think they could use Rasmus quite a bit there. They're running lyubushkin and dumb on the right side, which is pretty weak for a cup contender.

Surgery was indeed inevitable, he had back surgery yesterday.

Curious to know, to what extent are NHL doctors privy to amateur/draft eligible players injury and health status? If the Tigers knew Lindstrom’s injury was more serious than what NHL teams had access to, do they need to disclose that?
Also, did the Blue Jackets know more than the media? I would have to think they would have.

He will pretty much have to hit the floor unless they trade for some vets and get some value for taking them on. The cap floor will stop the Flames from completely rolling a youth line up.

So true. There's a name from the past. Played against him in Sask. I got kicked out of a game after less than a minute in Notre Dame. Referee was one of the Priest's from the College. Not sure what I said to him.
