I don't want to get too ahead of myself as it's still early days for his NHL career (though he's been dominant at every level he's played, so I'm not that concerned), but it looks like we got a top 5 or top 10 pick in that draft at 214th overall. Absolutely insane value.

This has been a big change in his game from last season, especially early on. It's awesome to watch him figuring out the NHL game.
Also, I can't help but draw comparisons between Wolf and Spencer Knight—the first goalie taken in the 2019 Draft, and the starting goalie for the 2020 U-20 team, ahead of Wolf. When he was drafted, there was lots of talk about him being a sure-fire NHL starter, and he may yet get there. But, so far, Knight's career has looked pretty pedestrian. He has split time between the AHL and the Panthers with last year being his only full season spent in the minors: 45GP 2.41 GAA 0.905 SP.
Not bad. Not great.
So far this season he has had five starts in Florida, a 2.85 GAA and a 0.897 SP. For context, those are comparable numbers to Dan Vladar's—2.65 GAA, 0.906 SP—while playing behind the reigning Stanley Cup Champions. Heading into this season, Knight had started in 49 games over three seasons.
Meanwhile, Wolf continues to carve out a Calder and Vezina calibre season after only 18 games.

I wonder if Wolf gets any consideration for the 4 Nations tournament? Obviously, Hellebuyck will be the US starter and there are a few vets ahead of Wolf for the backup role, but he could be an option for the third stringer (I don't know if they get three goalies for that tournament or not).

This offseason even though it was a 2 way deal we all knew he would be with the Flames right off the bat, different mental preparation.

Wolf is part of a new generation of smaller and more mobile goalies. The new equipment rules mean no more Henrik Karlsson types. You can't just strap on super large equipment onto a guy that 6'4''+ and expect him to excel.
The rules were staggered in over the last few years and it'll take time for the rules to take effect through development channels.
I'd expect to see a lot more smaller and more mobile goalies going forward.

Keep in mind wolf is putting up these numbers with arguably one of the worst D cores in the league. Or so we thought. Maybe more 18-27 so bottom end middle of the pack D core but still not as good as previous years. When we have better D we could very well be something special. Just need to find that franchise forward.

D-core in front of him isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Both Weegar and Andersson look like legit top pairing guys.
Pretty much all of Bean, Miromanov, Bahl, and Pachal look better than expected.
Barrie has done F all for the offence. the Flames upgraded with a solid #3, they'd actually have a decent d-core. They'd ideally want a talented offensive guy with basic second pairing defensive abilities. Parekh has those abilities but is obviously a ways from being ready.

Lots of credit to the goalies, and rightfully so. Not enough talk about this. The defense was supposed to be terrible - and terrible defense negates good goaltending (and good goaltending was by no means a certainty).
Instead of good goaltending, we've gotten very good, and at times, great goaltending. But at the same time, we've gotten at least decent defense, and arguably good, or at least pretty good defense.
All of Bahl, Pachal, Miromanov, and Bean have been as good or better than hoped. No surprise from any one of them, but for all 4 to be playing this well, nobody could have predicted that.

Something worth noting on Spencer Knight is that he left the game for a stretch and entered the players assistance progam due to what sounds like life-altering OCD, and I would imagine it has coloured the majority of his time in the NHL. Hoping he can bounce back this season.
