It's a weird roster as well, its signed long term but aging as well.
Rolling with Temu Joe would be strange.

I don't know, I'd disagree. Compared to last season, they haven't lost any consequential upfront (Debrusk, but he was not great last year) and they've added Lindholm. On D, Shattenkirk, I suppose but he too wasn't great last year and then they added Z this year, who has been bad. It's the same team, but their goalies haven't been good (not sure if Swayman finds it after missing camp). I personally think they'll be just fine.

The team is mostly the same, but as I've seen online, maybe putting that much money in a center ice crew that doesn't drive play is a bad idea. And they really, really look disinterested right now.

The Bruins are still in a playoff spot while getting poor goaltending and special teams. Show some patience in your $66M goalie or make some PP adjustments before firing the coach.

The coach was a lame duck who nearly got fired after the playoffs last year. He wanted a new deal in the summer, the team refused and they’ve looked like trash so far to start the year.. It’s not a shock that he got fired.

Bruins are a mess I think. Long term contracts on the wrong people. Might be hard to compete unless they get some help from prospects or a fantastic trade.

First thing I wondered is if the Habs might look at asking St. Louis to step aside to bring in Montgomery.
It is probably a little early in the rebuild for someone like Montgomery, but there's pressure and dissatisfaction in Montreal for the first time in quite a while. I don't think anyone truly believes St. Louis -- however good he is for young players and culture -- is really gonna be the guy to get them over the hump. So if you are Hughes you might look at making the change a little earlier than planned in order to get a coach of this calibre and pedigree (Montgomery is a Montrealer who speaks French fluently)

Definitely seems like an overreaction 1/4 the way into a season after the regular season they had last year.

St. Louis isn’t a good coach. Montgomery would be a massive upgrade. Heck he would be an upgrade on many teams us Buffalo and Ottawa come to mind as well.

Meat shield for the GM who didn’t replace the vets that retired.

Montgomery shouldn’t be fired, the GM should be though.

The Bruins are 433-203-84 since Sweeney became their GM.
8 straight playoff appearances.
Not sure why he should be fired?
It's inevitable that a team gets older and has their contention window close.

Probably an overreaction - that's what it looks like to most on paper, including myself. They play in a tough division.
However, maybe some of the players have had it with him? If that's the case, then this will make more sense to me. Otherwise, I think it is a complete overreaction as well.

They won’t fire The Knob, the will just bring in Coach Q as an associate coach.

Of course, I kid, but I was reminded of the time Les Nordiques traded coach for a 1st rnder...with how Huska has this team playing, has this come to Connie's mind lol:
"Rangers made historic trade for coach ahead of 1987 NHL Draft:
Bergeron lasted fewer than 2 seasons with New York after being acquired from Quebec for 1st-round pick"

Don't know if the GM should be fired, but the roster was prime for a retool. Instead, they went out and signed a couple of soon to be 30-year-olds to long term deals and banked on Zacha and Lindholm to center their top 2 lines. Probably not smart.
