Aydar Suniev is one of the top Sophomore players in NCAA this year. This is awesome as he is clearly taking a step forward this year. And case in point- he's not playing on a loaded team either like Boston College who can trot out Ryan Leonard, James Hagens, Gabe Perreault....and he's playing in the same division.

Suniev and his line is very prominent in the highlights. Looks like he is on the ice for 4 of the 5 goals
Suniev's scores a greasy goal, around 1:10 mark of the video
Suniev lays a big hit at 2:40 mark of the video

Interesting comments about Suniev, that he plays the perimeter too often. Getting that greasy goal like that shows he can play a power forward game if he wants to.

Whatever even if true... said with grain of salt
Some inconsistency young. Even if he perimeter player we need guys that can score
Iggy cherry picked a bit. Sometimes it's a strategy for offensive players. Coaching too can fix

My question is how does Niagara and their division translate to say hockey east? Does he transfer next year. Do good players come out of Niagara?
They play in Atlantic Hockey, which is arguably the worst conference in the NCAA, and it's not even close. Every year, the champion of each conference gets an automatic invite to the year-end tournament and then there are 10 at-large invites to the best teams that didn't win their conference.
In the time I've been following college hockey, I don't believe the Atlantic Hockey conference has ever sent more than one team to the tournament and their champion is usually ranked below 20th in the overall rankings. For example, right now, Bentley leads Atlantic Hockey and they are ranked 23rd overall.
A handful of Atlantic Hockey players have made it to the NHL, but Dan Hinote is the only one to make it to 200 games. Niagara has produced 2 NHLers, but they only played 1 and 12 games each.

I guess cal maker came from ajhl. Why not Hopkins? Good players come from everywhere
Sure yeah, of course. Makar came out of the AJHL at 18, Hoskins at 20 though. Huge difference

Obviously maker is on another level top pick
Hoskins is highly regarded by one flames scout per conroy so who knows.
Hoskin idolized gaudreau as a tiny player had a growth spurt i think after 18 from what I remember
Late bloomer?
Maybe flames sign him to ahl deal next year no risk flyer for development

Perfect! That just means that Hoskin will need to make history as the first Atlantic Hockey player to play 1000 games in the NHL.
