So I wonder what a VA trade looks like.

He was traded for a 1st round pick, can't see the Lions getting that especially if the player wants to only come here.

Maybe Maier and a draft pick for him? Maybe we can get Mcinnis in the trade as well.

Here's hoping that the Stamps Linebackers line him up and light him up next year.
Pepperidge Farm remembers. Keep your head up next year Carey.

Some valid points but made himself like an idiot going on and on about it. Argos 'dynasty'? Lol.

Wow, Carey not holding back with those comments.
I’m not a Dickenson fan, but I’ll give him this year if we can land a decent QB to go along with Parker and Stevens.

Lawler is a free agent as well. If I recall the Stamps went after him but got outbid by Edmonton.

Yeah, I agree that a receiver upgrade is needed, but also the OL needs a massive upgrade. Even if the Stamps land VA, he needs time to throw the ball plus the Stamps need to be able to run the ball better in 2025.

Yup both lines need upgrades. Vaughter, Rose, Howarse all good players. Wonder what happened.

1 OL/DL
2. QB
3. Coordinators
4. Skill position

My points of emphasis. We want VA, but he will just get injured if send that same offensive line back.

Need to pressure the QB with 4-man rushes. We picked Vaughters over Thurman, and he has been a massive disappointment outside a few games stretch.

Rumours swirling that Buck Pierce will be the new head coach of the BC Lions with Rick Campbell joining Ed Hervey in Edmonton.

Hmm wonder if we could grab Maksymic from BC as OC.

I know we need special teams and DC, but if we get Adams and his OC that would be a boost.

Not surprised Pierce is getting a shot as he's done well running the Bombers offense over the years.

For some weird reason I thought Buck was the OC in BC until I saw him on the sidelines on Sunday lol.

Makes sense for him to go back to BC, and be the head coach.

Campbell never felt right in Calgary or BC. To Edmonton he has always belonged. Now he can have a few 5-13 seasons and get fired and end up Toronto.

We can’t trade the first overall for him, maybe trade down, draft him and Rourke?

Yep. The Jake Maier sweepstakes officially begin in February 2025.

Teams are already preparing their presentations.

But for real he’s a good guy who embraced the city. It’s not all his fault.

For sure, he's a more than adequate backup QB for any CFL team and he can certainly fill the void if your starter gets injured.

I was thinking why I am so adamant about VA, and few things popped in to my head.

The success with the QB's we have had with this system have the ability to move in the pocket or move outside of the pocket. Burris and Mitchell. Tate didn't look as good.

Burris has turnover issues that was with the previous regime as well, and he worked on that, but once Huff came aboard Burris took it to another level. Less reckless running and carrying the ball like a loaf of bread, and he started putting up MVP numbers.

I see the same thing with VA. Obviously the line needs to be improved, but we can do things with him to get away from pressure. You can now add rolling him out to the playbook, play action rolls outs. That should draw linebackers up and open up the middle more. The threat to run for a 1st when no one is open, if he steps up a linebacker probably drops out of his zone and comes up which opens up more passes.

He has a big arm to get the ball downfield obviously. Those are the big differences with him and Jake. Jake was immobile for a CFL QB. Running screens from the pocket, can't really give you that threat to run for a 1st.

A lot of the depends on fixing the o-line as well, but I bet if he was playing with the line we had he has a better season than Maier.

As expected Rick Campbell had been fired.
