It gets mega hyped online, so I made sure to try it the last time I was in the States.
Meh.
I imagine most people in line who fell for the hype won't be back, a lot of people just see a trend and want to jump on. Popeyes was like that when it opened here too

I think the uniquely Canadian part is specific to the obsession over extremely mediocre American chains.
Lineups around the block for the first Apple store or whatever, sure.
Lineups around the block for kind of OK chicken sandwiches and Whiteclaw? Weird.

Yeah, wanting to be seen to among the first to try the new thing has more to do with social media than any national inferiority complex.

In my time in New Zealand I saw the same kind of hype for the first Carl's Jr, Taco Bell, and Popeye's on the fast food. And the hype for major retailers such as Costco and K Mart opening their first outlets was insane.

Except that these type of things happened well before social media.
Line-ups for a big blockbuster, new video game/album being dropped, new fast food chain opening. None of these things are new.
I wouldn't line-up that long for fast food, but sometimes it's fun to get caught in the hype of a big even type of thing.

It's funny when you think about how a lot of religions have rules that forbid their people from eating the meat from certain animals, I don't know of any that forbid eating chickens.

I was talking about fast food places. I've seen news stories of lineups for the opening of places like Krispy Kreme, In-n-Out, Chick-Fil-A, etc. in various locations in the States. For example...
12+ hour line for first In-N-Out in Colorado: https://www.today.com/food/there-s-1...burger-t200244
Chick-Fil-A around what appears to be Albany, NY: https://www.reddit.com/r/Anticonsump...ing/?rdt=53263

Did chicken even exist when religions started? Isn't pretty much all of our food a genetic manipulation from many years of improving/breeding?
Also, pork is the best meat of the big three. Not debateable.

Exactly when and where the chicken was domesticated remains controversial. Genomic studies estimate that the chicken was domesticated 8,000 years ago[45] in Southeast Asia and spread to China and India 2,000 to 3,000 years later. Archaeological evidence supports domestic chickens in Southeast Asia well before 6000 BC, China by 6000 BC and India by 2000 BC.[45][52][53]

Holy crap, chickens are older than the earth. Neat trick.

I'm ####ing certain Hippo will top em all. It's too bad they're apparently hard to farm. ###### Escobar was amazing, from 4 of em in the 70's to about 200 today. It'd be so awesome to dump a bunch into Glenmore reservoir, or Lake Bonaventure. The carnage, and the most epic bacon ever.

I was walking on the Bow River pathway last weekend passed by Eau Claire it looks like they've pretty much completely gutted the inside now, sad to see, That location still has so much potential.
On a related thought I remembered there used to be a sign somewhere along the walk that explained how back in the 1960s there were plans to build a major highway in that area. Believe it or not the highway was meant to be called the Penetrator.
I couldn't find the sign but I did find this podcast

There were maybe 30 cars in the drive-thru line for Chick-fil-A when I was driving down Macleod about 15 minutes ago. I laughed all the way to Wendy's.
You can get better chicken at f'n Burger King.
