Just...the sprinting to the bench afterwards...just so greasy.

Sure every goalie lets in stinkers now and again. And Skinner is not a top goalie. But let’s not both sides this. The Oilers suck in front of him worse than he could possibly try to suck otherwise
Yeah, Manny Fernandez and Dwayne Roloson were amazing goalies when they were playing under Jacques Lemaire and both putting up .930s , right?
Oh, I know…. Let’s do this one next. Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark suck this year. Probably because of the pressure of their big contracts, right? Not the train wrecks they play behind
People often overestimate goalies with respect to their contribution to stopping goals. Those guys are overpaid and cashed in at the right time on having played for a good Boston team before the wheels fell off
The Oilers suck.
And no, Skinner doesn’t need to make a save, he can let them all in and see if McJesus can outscore it, for all I care

Any stat can only tell so much of a story.

Wonder if ole cross eyes had no idea what was happening.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player quit like that.

Also that stat is fuelled by the fact they have had a ridiculously soft schedule to start the season. 3 games against Preds…. That alone impacts that stat significantly.

Maybe Bouchard thinks he doesnt get a minus if he's on the bench before the goal horn is finished? I dont know.
Its just so weird. He completely 'Controller Disconnected' until right after the goal and then it was "I gotta GTFO of here ASAP."

He quit on the play long before the guy even got the puck. He was casually skating back and just quit.
Before that he tossed a puck up the middle and Toronto scored. He was also on the ice for the OT winner just drops to the ice lmao.
I hope he gets paid. Hilariously bad player.

I actually think Skinner is an OK goalie - after all, he's mainly the reason they get anywhere - when he plays well, they win and when he doesn't stand on his head they lose. Same happened with Smith and Koskinen. But no goalie would look good behind that team.

Maybe they should retry jack Campbell. He’s on waivers today. His contract is very cheap!

Signs of cannibalism happening on “the other board”.
Wait for “the return of Hall”. One sweatpanter jokingly suggested Ekholm for Hall
Watch it materialize

I guess Bouchard figured out if he doesn't try then he should get more money like Nurse did.

I was just looking at stats of last nights Oilers game. McDavid 1G/1A -3. Was he on the ice for all 4 Leafs goals against?
The goalie and Bouchard were horrid, so what does this stat line make of McDavid.

updates on the surefire 7 (outside the dynamic duo)
https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/edmont...0-goal-scorers
Zach Hyman 3 goals in 18 games. needs 27 goals in 64 games (35 goal pace)
Jeff Skinner 3 goals in 18 games, needs 27 goals in 64 games
Victor Arvidsson 2 goals in 16 games, needs 28 goals in 64 games (36 goal pace)
RNH 1 goal in 18 games , needs 29 goals in 64 games (37 goal pace)
Kane 0 goals in 0 games, needs 30 goals in 64 games (38 goal pace)
Hyman- to be fair, has exceed 35 goals last 2 years-
Skinner - ok still doing fine. has exceed 35 goals 3 times, last 3 years ago
Arvidsson- career high is 34 7 years ago
Nuge- one 37 goal season in his 14 year career
Kane- has scored exactly 30 twice in his 15 year career- last 5 years ago (*yes he's injured but that is factored in in the original article, figures he only needs 50-60 games to hit 30)
Maybe breaking the NHL record for 30 goal scorers won't happen this season? stay tuned.
8 goals in 70 games for the sure fire bottom 5 doesn't scream likely

It does seem as though a couple key factors have been overlooked.
1. They're old.
2. On their old teams, they got big minutes. On the Oilers those minutes belong to...you know who.

Jeff Skinner last scored 30+ two years ago when he averaged 17:30 toi including over 3:00 pp toi per game.
This season he is averaging 13:42 and 0:50 pp toi per game.
And if he ever was good, he is now no good.

They're all older, I question their conditioning especially when it comes to later in the game.
RNH has never been super fast, he's slowed way down, so has Arvedson and Skinner.
Lets be honest, Hyman is a warrior but he has hard wear on those tires based on the style he's played.

I like how oiler fans and their derp media figured that output would translate seamlessly despite losing PP time and being deployed like a depth player.

I mean plenty of CPers did too when I suggested the signing was no steal when it happened
there are only so many pucks and pp minutes
