Waddell is a tough trading partner, he still values Jiricek as an A+ prospect but won’t play him… makes no sense.

I think the Flames have a good group of young defencemen. And I think the Flames only have one premium trade asset, Rasmus Andersson. Others are part of the future or signed long term. So, I’d like to see the Flames use Andersson to acquire a centre like Cozens, a package that includes a drafted centre like Helenius, or draft picks that could be used to get a centre.

Who knows if a young centre is available for Andersson?

I would actually think you'd have a better chance getting a young centre for Jiricek, so maybe that's the angle. A team is more likely to trade a young centre for another young piece.

Well the Flames do have surpluses in the goalie and young defenseman department. A big shortage on young centers. Would be nice to try and bring some balance.
