I posted earlier that when I saw Tyson walking into the stadium...I knew that he didn't have legs. Agreed with the poster above that the editors did a fantastic job of 30 second Tyson flurries that looked devastating...I was even sorry for his coach in the warmup videos. Tyson needed to take the car ride in and not Paul.
People getting mad over a free Netflix fight is kinda funny; there were 2 amazing bouts before this one and most people didn't buy Netflix for this fight...if you did you should have gotten the 30 day trial or whatever it was or surfed the seven seas.
Maybe people haven't watched much boxing but a lot of times the headline fight is like a game 7 in hockey...cagey as crap...no risks taken either way, and then it either just resolves at the end with a decision or there's an accident and it's a knock out.
Put another way...Anthony Joshua is totally ripped and he can box...but he seems like too nice a guy for the grind of sustained championships...Joshua would have destroyed either of these boxers. That's why it won't happen.
Paul moved up at least 2 weight classes for this fight and that takes its own toll on a boxer.
At the end of the day, I was wrong with my prediction. Lots of money was made and there were 2 amazing fights. Other than the streaming issues...it was a fine night of free boxing.
Now...when will Rough n' Rowdy 26 happen? That's entertainment!

The fact that I got drawn in to watch the two fights before this main event was plenty for me to be satisfied. Hate on Paul as much as you like. But he got a lot of exposure for those other two bouts that they likely don't get. My 9 year old daughter was absolutely captivated by the Taylor and Serrano bout. So if a rematch gets more views and better pay days for the combatants, that's a good thing. Those two deserve it.

The ladies apparently (rumoured) got paid 4 to 5 times the amount they were paid from the MSG fight. That's the real crime here because both the MSG fight and this one were incredible.
Eddie Hearn and Matchroom boxing manage Taylor and they couldn't pull this fight together...it was Jake Paul's company that did it.
Hopefully it gives further impetus to fair pay across genders and weight classes.

Was really disappointed in how few punches Tyson threw. Couldn't stand Paul taunting Iron Mike with the tongue and bull**** during the fight, but I appreciated him giving Tyson the kudos in those last 10 second of the match. I remember seeing the below jab from Mike early on in the match and being disappointed he didn't continue to move forward and throw a few more. He caught Paul, who knows what could have happened if Tyson moved in like the old Mike...
If Tyson had any legs, Paul would have been caught a couple of times easily. But he walked out to the ring like Red Fox. When I saw that my guts felt ill.
You could see a few time in the fight Tysons brain wanted his hips and legs to do one thing and they responded with "nope, can't do that." You could see it on his face too. He seen a few opportunities he could move in on but the body wouldn't cooperate.
I was never a Mile Tyson back in the day. But anybody with a brain knows he was the deadliest human on the planet for over a decade.

It does seem like Mike had him but just backed right off and went into silent mode. That was really strange to watch again. If he went forward with a few more punches he probably knocks him down.
My kid mentioned, and I agree, Mike looked off right from the start. Even when he was walking in. Like he didn't really want to be there. Gotta wonder if there was an element of WWE going on.

He didn’t seem coherent as he normally is. Wonder if he smiled up a bit to calm the nerves?
We did see the CTE fest with Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield on the undercard, right? I mean Mike probably didn't take as much punishment as those guys did, but he definitely took some. Also gotta think that affects a fighters ability at 58.

Interesting seeing the day after, fallout takes on the socials: Tyson's legacy taking a hit (temporary and will pass IMO), and Paul is a bully fighting the elderly.
With the amount of money they both made, it's probably worth it, but definitely image-damaging for both. I doubt Paul gets a big money fight like that again against a way past their prime name, he needs a real fight now to keep this going.

Did you watch a different fight?

I think thats sort of the demographic he's going for.
"Watch this whippersnapper fight people way, way past their prime!"
Next up...Sylvester Stallone and after that maybe even Clint Eastwood.
