Another Manning turd, gonna collect more taxpayer dollars handed the job by Smith. This is becoming a pattern...

Sasky, yes much better because they are a little more yeehaw than us. Saudi, not debateable in any way at all. U.S. Joke its even suggested. My American bosses would laugh at the suggestion they are more ethical, its actually a running joke that is why we take 4 times longer and 4 times more $$$ than anything down there does.

BOP's what the hell are those! You can't smoke on the rig floor, what?
Anyone who has been involved in a SAGD project in AB and SK knows Alberta oil is more ethical (or at least more regulated). Recycling the water over and over again isn't something producers do to increase profits.

Danielle Smith and presumably, a provincial delegation will be attending the Trump inauguration in January.

"Ethical oil" is way too subjective, especially when it takes into account non-production factors (like the nature of the government, history of treatment of minorities etc.).

I'm not giving Alberta credit for "ethics" in oil production that are, for example, based upon the Charter. Or any other federal regulation for that matter.

The question is - what does Alberta do as a province that is ethical in terms of energy production? Is it cognizant of the need to wind down and alternate?

Reasonable compromise: Add teaching kids that our oil and gas industry is ethical to the curriculum and in exchange every member of the UCP government that the industry bought and paid for steps down for making our oil and gas industry look unethical as a result of their handling of the majority of issues since forming government.

Could Albertans live with that? Poll?

It's pretty sad isn't it? What's next in the updated curriculum?
Is our canola the most ethical?
How about our doctors?
Perhaps the Calgary Flames are the most ethical hockey team in the planet? Many of us hope to export some vets...

One thing that Trump is promising, is that politicians can't be employed by corporations that had any association with government during their time in office.

The UCP is built on the premise that they will be rewarded by the companies that they roll over to, in office.

That’s rich coming from him, he has bilked taxpayers millions at his resorts while IN office. His buddy Elon is getting massive dollars for delivering nothing.

There should be some limits but if you want even worse people running for office go ahead and ban them from working in an industry they know well.

This seems kind of insane to me. Being part of Canada is part of what makes AB what it is.

Where does neglecting local taxes and our impressive history of allowing orphan wells fit in our ethical tally?

Since it’s Alberta’s resource that they control as the largest oil company in the province who takes money from every single well. And could have prevented most, plus the orphan fund is 100% funded by competitors to the defunct companies. Oil needs a lot of flak but not on this file unless you are ######ed.

Yeah, but Alberta is saying it's more ethical than even other Canadian provinces.

When someone tells me eggs are ethically produced, I'm thinking they are from a free range farm. Not that the farm happens to be in a liberal democracy with a functioning judicial system.

Are we already learning about the differences between thermal coal and metallurgical coal (soon to be followed by the addition of ‘Selenium: The Misunderstood Chalcogen’’) or will that come after the mining?
