Is that all he does is crowd work?

I legitimately wondered that based on his Reddit clips but no, he has actual material.

It’s hard to tell these days because crowd work clips are so popular, and can be really funny, but I’m not really into paying for an hour of it.

It can be funny. It's often not, and the popularity of crowdwork is contributing to the rise of audiences thinking they're part of the show when they're not.

Crowd work clips are mostly lame now a days. Once comedians found out it was the secret cheat code to high views on social media, it basically became it's own genre of comedy. I find it all pretty lazy and unfunny, personally, especially considering how much of it is clearly staged.

Ironically, the only the crowd work I ever liked was when Norm Macdonald would do it once and while. It was never that new style of "ha, what sorry, SORRY WAS THAT!?" *goes into big long slam on audience member.

Norm was so calm and easy going about it, lacking that lame intensity and mean spiritedness you get from most crowd work bits now a days.

That’s what makes Arcuri so talented. It’s an art form unto itself. I’ve seen many imitators, but no one can duplicate his crowd work. The level of comedic timing and quick thinking is unparalleled. He’s like the Harry Mack of rap freestyle but in crowd work.

I feel bad for old school comedians that have material and don’t do any crowd work because downinflames is right, it’s led to a new style of audience that thinks they’re integral to the show. But I’d argue Arcuri is more of a reaction to that. Crowds have been getting more obnoxious and he shines because of how well he deals with it, to the point that it’s become an integral part of his comedy.

I am so happy I got to see him during his last stop in Calgary.

A ####ing legend and doesn't get enough mainstream love IMO.

Based strictly off that clip no one should like him, thats not being funny with the crowd. Thats just repeating back answers but adding swears.

Found Ian Bagg while perusing youtube, he does a good job of crowd work

I think Theo Von is one of the most naturally funny comedians out there on the circuit right now. Even when he's just talking and not going through a joke he wrote, he's just hilarious.

James Acaster has a new special coming to HBO where he lets the audience heckle as much as they want.
