He’ll win it when we make the playoffs riding his .930 save percentage.

anyone else think Hutson is getting overrated? Like yes he looks pretty good offensively, but he's been a black hole defensively

I think if he hits 30 wins or something, he'd have a shot even if Flames miss

Feels like Stankhoven shouldn't be in the running due to games played but he is just under the 25 game limit. That is who I'd put my money on.

If you look at Wolf's playing career and extrapolate that success to the NHL, all Conroy has to do is put a somewhat decent team in front of him and the Flames will be a threat for the next decade or so.

40-1 is WAY too low odds for a guy almost certainly in the top 3, 1/5th the way through the season.

I enjoyed watching Brandt Clarke last night and am surprised to look up that he is not a rookie this year even at 21. He played 16 games last season and 9 games the season before so he hasn't surpassed the 25 game mark, but apparently there is a second category that if you play 6 games in each of the preceding 2 seasons you are no longer a rookie.

I've only watched him when we played them but he certainly wasnt a black hole defensively against us. Infact the made more than a couple high end defensive plays breaking good chances up.
I came away impressed with him but again I've only seen that one game.

I think he would have to start earning more of the starts and probably has to play 50+ games to be considered for the calder.

In the last 10 years...
6 winners from the West
4 from the East
3 were 1st overall.
Wolf has been tremendous but he also will play about half as many games as the skaters. That will work against him with the voters as much as anything to do with geography or draft pedigree.

Pretty easy to make the argument that, of all the guys on the list posted above, Wolf has had the greatest impact on his team. Michkov for instance, has been a healthy scratch more than once. Wolf has arguably been the Flames' best player this year, and at a minimum, has been directly responsible for a few Ws.
Definitely deserves more respect than he has gotten to date. Unfortunately, there is never any promotional reporting coming out of Calgary. I mean, I am very glad we aren't Edmonton, but a little support once in a while, when deserved, wouldn't be a bad thing.

Those are crazy odds for Wolf.. i'd have him closer to 10-1 right now and I expect he will only get better.

As long as he's splitting starts with Vladar that's not going to help his case even if he puts up very good numbers. It's a very short list of goaltenders that have won the Calder.

IMO There is no way Wolf should be a 40-1 shot, but my money would be on Stankoven.

Who was the last goalie to win it? Was it Richter in NY?

Steve Mason in 2009. Before that, Raycroft in 2004
