While I agree that it was likely in, you can't actually conclusively tell whether it was fully behind the post, because the overhead camera is slightly behind the post, and the in-goal camera is (with respect to the degree of angulation) is even farther behind it, so either way, the actual situation on the ice may not be reflected by the camera angle due to parallax, especially if the puck is a bit lower and not immediately under the bar. Would be better if the in-goal cam was actually right in the middle of the post, but that would compromise the uniformity of the post.

"Conclusively" being the operative word, since that is required to overturn the ruling on the ice.

Right call.

Great win!

Good to see Wolf keep up the strong play, especially at home. Good overall effort by the team. That first game back from a road trip is usually a bit of a trap. Although stupid schedule has it more like a road game with a trip to Vancouver tomorrow.

So when are the Flames selling their rights to Prime? Let’s start a petition

Arguably their most complete game of the season. Throughly enjoyable, from their full-game effort to the excellent Prime broadcast.

(My only nitpick is the sacrilegious promotion of this OG’s classic: https://youtu.be/LmkLnYYbak8?si=njlSJpEJ3qnHg-DC )

At the very least SN+ can buy some bandwidth from Amazon at least...imagine streaming a sporting event and it not over subscribed

Flames must lead the league in one game home stands

They actually did show that angle just before they announced it as a good goal.

It was in. Still a really solid outing for Wolf regardless.

Except actual winners don’t do this:

Florida first 15 games after their Cup- 9-3-1 so far
Vegas first 15 games after their Cup- 12-3
Colorado first 15 games after their Cup- 9-5-1

Cup hangovers are just an excuse- it’s bad management, a historically bad goalie coach, a flawed roster and some rocks for brains players at key positions who are sinking us (along with the usual crooked officiating, but until the team calls it out, they deserve to suffer).
I don't understand why they keep bringing "Cup Hangover, do their fans not understand to have a "cup hangover" you have to, you know, actual won the Cup? Is there such a thing as "bridesmaid hangover"?

This is the 3rd time.

The other we travelled to Edmonton the next day. The other was a 3 day break before playing Seattle. This is going to Vancouver.

While weird they are all easy flights.

I must have missed it then.

I thought they showed this angle but it must have been a split second later because the puck looked higher up on the blocker and on the way out IIRC

The challenge here is we see the minimum angles as a viewer. I read somewhere the video goal judges for each game have at least 4 different camera angles and they often are consulting with the situation room for every game. The situation room has something like 15 different camera angles so I wouldn’t be surprised they had a conclusive angle that showed the puck was in.

I'm relenting and saying that it was conclusively a good goal.

Why are Oiler fans so mad on the ATL? They won the other night. Isn’t the Cup parade back on?

That was an amazing view. If it was on Sportsnet it would've been a five minute documentary on McDavid's ankle.
