What a treat listening to good quality chat about the teams playing. So different from the usual SN fanboys.
Maybe a bit too much chit chat but they are playing to a national US audience. .

Monday Night Hockey is a Canadian national broadcast. Rogers sold the Canadian national broadcast window on Mondays to Amazon. This is the result. US audiences are not the target for this one.

Zary has had three great rushes down the middle in the first. Pospisil and Sharangovich are struggling to start the season. No idea why they don't have Zary at C.
PP1 has also struggled since they took him off of it.

Agree he didn't have any options - which seems to be a constant problem for the Flames - but he could have easily moved the puck to a corner for a board battle.
This team does not make the smart simple plays on a consistent basis, and it's really obvious at both blue lines where players are trying to force things.

Can’t believe Zary only has one point in his last seven the way he’s been playing. He deserves to be a ppg.

Good period. We should have 2 or 3 goals. But have zero. That’s this team’s achilles heel.

Just chiming in to also throw my support to Prime over Sportsnet. Their presentation is already blowing SN out of the water.
If the NHL re-ups long term with SN, they’re insane.

After reading all the comments in this thread, I realize that I either have the greatest tv in the world or the worst because the picture quality of this game looks pretty much the same as every other game I watch.
One annoying thing about the Prime broadcast is it isn't as easy to just change the channel and watch something else during the intermission.

Loving the broadcast. Only issue is the announcers sound like they are in the bottom of a well. Not the commercials though. Using a smart TV.

Could do with less Mark Messier. Anyone who watched the 80's battles with the Oilers knows what a dirtbag this guy was. One of the dirtiest players to ever play the game yet the current NHL treats this scumbag like some kind of royalty.

Maybe, but the overall presentation, including the intermission content, is so much more palatable.
(Edit: I also stream the SN games on my computer and there’s been no comparison so far. Prime is way better quality online.)

I haven't heard Connor McDavid's name mentioned once this intermission. Win.

...how much longer does SportsNet have the Flames contract? Just extended it, didn't they? Ugh

You mean you wouldn't rather hear about how Connor is rehabbing so well and how the oilers are so special and are ordained to win the cup this year. Or McLean going on a rambling nonsensical story.

I gotta say they’ve done a good job on the production. Maybe it’s their hyper inflated visual specs or something, but the city looks great on those shots and the coverage has been orettt good.

Look at all of this Flames content on a Flames broadcast. Wolf, Andersson, Backlund - all in one intermission.
Holy moly!

It’s funny that a national broadcast features our players more than the local one
