God damn that was a hot mess. You still need a storyline… 6 hrs of extreme close up zoom ins of main characters isn’t enough… just awful.

Not really reading the thread but I will throw Bad Monkey out there. I really enjoyed it. I like my quirky shows like that and this one delivered. Would recommend.
Great sound track too.

I also enjoyed it. Some good laughs and Vince Vaughn killed his role.

Hacks was not the show name I expected at the end of that sentence.

We are a few episodes into Grotesquerie.
This is FX here so Disney+ in Canada?
I do not quite what to say. I thought it started out great and then just kind of fizzled. We have now watched 5 episodes and I don't think I could tell you what happened in the last 2. Hard to recommend, actually.

Apparently they fumble the ending. We're 6 episodes in and like it overall, but Ryan Murphy really struggles with endings. Every American Horror Story starts strong and ends terribly.

I did. It was a lot of food porn. But Ice Chips was one of the best episodes of the series.
Season 3 rated lower than the first two, but still well regarded.

I have worked as a line cook, and in a law office, and both can be extremely stressful. The show is a bit triggering for me.

The series invents different devices to keep characters around from one season to the next. One way of thinking about the novel is that it's about how ideas persist (and are in fact inevitable) in predictable ways regardless of the individuals, which essentially makes it unfilmable as-is. Critics will say that the series turns this message on its head. I don't think you can really argue with that, and instead just watch the show as something that tells a good story on an epic scale.
And for what its worth, I think most fans of the show share your opinion that the genetic dynasty is the best part of the show (and by a wide margin in season 1), but in the second season other elements of the show hold their own better as well.

Season 2 was more consistently entertaining, and the finale was again outstanding. Brother Constant is my favorite character in the series. When she approached the Vault, it very much reminded me of Dave entering the monolith in 2001. Beyond the infinite.
I think I will try Silo next.

Started watching Mr. Throwback last night and it is hilarious. Peacock comedy that you can stream on Global/Showcase with ads.
Follows an unfortunate memorabilia salesman who hopes to find forgiveness by reconciling with NBA legend Steph Curry, a teammate from his sixth-grade years.

I'm surprised there's so little talk of The Penguin. That's the best season of a show I've watched in at least a couple years, maybe more.

The Penguin is the best show on TV since heavy hitters like Breaking Bad and GOT

Started watching Day of the Jackal with Eddie Redmayne in the leading role. Started a bit slow in the workup but got much better once it hit Ep 3.
