Yeah, Matthews is the only guy that has shown he has the ability to get close to the record, but as mentioned, the other amazing thing about OV is how healthy he has been throughout his career. Not easy to do and is required if someone is going to catch him.

Matthews from this generation is the only one that will get a sniff. The reason he is in the conversation is he has been able to put up multiple 60+ seasons. If he can get a few more of those well in his prime, that will be like an additional 50 goal season.

Obviously he isn't going to score at a .6 goals per game clip the entire season, but is he ever making this interesting. It took him until January 2nd last season to get to 8.
