Just will chime in here. Growing up in California i have many American friends. Most of my male friends, who are a mix of whites and hispanics, are voting Trump. These are not people on the far right but people who say they were doing better financially under Trump then they are under Biden. They do not see any correlation that Trumps policies directly contributed to inflation. I expect Trump to win, I think he pulls out Pennsylvania. I was just there on a trip 3 months ago and the amount of Trump signs double the amount of Harris signs, not that it means much, but it took me by surprise. I think Trump probably gets to around 287 electoral votes. I would be happy to be wrong tho. Regardless I believe the gender gap in this election will be quite interesting to study for future elections.
And your friends are probably normal, good guys who aren't hateful, uneducated racists either. Until Americans can understand that supporters of the other party doesn't mean those people are <insert all the names that supporters say about the other side> and instead, try to actually understand their viewpoints, they'll always be divided...

Yes, most are actually good people. But it's not about understanding their viewpoints this time around - they are mostly just really really dumb.

Single source Fox news viewers. People heavy into Elon Musk.
It's almost not their fault. They're fed a steady diet of MAGA bs.
Or some ####ty podcasts
I hear so many Trump supports say they don't watch the news anymore - and they probably don't. They get their 'news' from Joe Rogan or the Tucker Carlson network.

I think that’s the hardest thing for people to understand. If it was anyone here who is consuming and discussing things we discuss that was still voting Trump? Sure, there’s something insidious about that. But a lot of these people are just dumb in a way that’s hard for people to relate to.

It's interesting that your friends in ocean blue California are all Trump supporters. He gets his ass handed to him every time.
Are a lot of them rural or something?
Well not all are voting Trump but the majority. Most work in sectors that saw a bit of a boom during Trumps presidency. Such as real estate and in the tech industries. Most do not have kids, in their late 20’s and are worried about financial progression. These are people who are not very politically tapped in on every issue are very much voting solely for the economy. Most of these guys don’t own guns, care one way or the other about abortion, and could care less about wars in other countries. California is also huge and my group of friends is not a direct representation of the entire state lol. I grew up in a above middle class area in California so again not a direct representation.
