All that offence that has them sitting 26th in the league. Probably closer to 29th since they have played more games than some of the teams around them.

60% PK 13 games in.

They told us the PK was fine; it wasn't the players it was the great Knobby system.

JOKES.

This, and having already feasted on the lowly Preds twice already.

The poor special teams performance just further proves that last years run was a total fluke and nothing more than another Cinderella story that fell short.

As fun as last years 2-9 start was it always felt too good to be true. And it was. I'm enjoying this start more. Because this feels like the team we all think they are. I don't even think this is a slow start for them. I think this is who they are now. Older, slower, and without a ridiculous PP to artificially prop them up. A .500 record, or slightly above, would be perfect to witness. It'll give the pundits hope that their darlings are still in it. But in reality they aren't and they'll try and move any last assets they have to squeak into the playoffs.

The only scenario in which I'd want the Flames to make the playoffs (or not finish bottom 5 for that matter) is if they are the 8th seed and the last game of the season bumps the Oilers out.

It really comes down to the Avs turning things around in my opinion. The pacific doesn't really have anyone who can squeeze them out of a wild card spot. So it comes down to the central division.

I'd take the playoffs ... then our draft pick is likely in the 17th overall range and probably a differential to Florida's of only 5-7.

It's finishing 11th or 12th worst that keeps me up at night.

I don't care where the Flames finish as long as they Trade Mantha and Kusemenko by the TDL.

I think the one encouraging thing about that is that we need a top line centre and to do that we probably need to pick top 8 this year. So… if it’s 11… worst case scenario, but we’re probably already too far out of where we need to draft anyway.

I predicted that the Oilers would struggle when they dumped their youth, defensive players, with strong fore checking and speed.

I said they'd be the biggest disappointment of the season.

I should have had the guts to bet against them.

US thanksgiving is coming up in three weeks. The Oilers are going to need to start having winning streaks.

Significantly different team, with less depth somehow. They aren’t going on a 16 game run with the age of this team.
