That was one thing I thought was dumb about the recent BC election. In the ridings that were too close too call after the voting, it was like damn, I guess we are going to have to count those early votes because they might actually make a difference. I wondered why they didn't do that before hand and then they could add them immediately.

You just know if some states are too close and then they break out stored boxes of early ballots, people in the MAGA crowd will assume shenanigans.
I recall some states count early, and some don’t start until the polls close. It played into the forecasting of what was states were going to be claimed as contested/“stolen”.

Not a lot of politicians like Buttigieg out there, unfortunately. Easily my favorite politician and I'm pretty sure if I knew him personally would be one of my favorite persons as well.

I want to say it depends on the state. Some are not permitted to prior to the election day.

I think it was one of the 2020 MAGA talking points "why did you SUDDENLY get all these mail in ballots?!?!" And the answer was "The GOP legislature in this state doesn't let us count them early because it's all Democratic".

I could be recalling it wrong. I drink a lot.

Some Republican-led states refuse to let Justice Department monitors into polling places

Quote:
Officials in Florida and Texas have said they won't allow federal election monitors into polling sites on Tuesday. And on Monday, Missouri filed a federal lawsuit seeking a court order to block federal officials from observing inside polling places.

The Justice Department announced last week that it's deploying election monitors in 86 jurisdictions across 27 states on Election Day. The Justice Department declined to comment on Monday on the Missouri lawsuit and the moves by other Republican-led states.

The race between Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump is a dead heat, and both sides are bracing for potential legal challenges to vote tallies. The Justice Department’s election monitoring effort, a long practice under both Democratic and Republican administrations, is meant to ensure that federal voting rights are being followed.

You’re right on the money. They had the argument lined up weeks in advance because of that little detail. RIGGED!

Right-Wing Extremists Are Making Big Plans for Election Day

Quote:
According to a Monday report from The New York Times, a sprawling network of right-wing extremist groups — many of which participated in efforts to subvert election results in 2020 — is using Telegram to prepare followers to mobilize on and after Election Day.

The Times analyzed over one million messages from 50 different Telegram channels, most formed after the 2020 election. The conspiracy riddled channels encouraged followers to effectively self deputize as poll watchers and election monitors. “The day is fast approaching when fence sitting will no longer be possible,” one Proud Boys channel based in Ohio wrote. “You will either stand with the resistance or take a knee and willingly accept the yoke of tyranny and oppression.”

A separate analysis by The Wall Street Journal found that the Proud Boys activity on Telegram suggests that the extremist group is reassembling following the arrest and conviction of several of its most prominent members over their participation in violent efforts to overthrow the 2020 election.

One North Carolina chapter lauded their members who worked the polls in the Republican primaries as an “excellent trial run for the general election in November.” Harris “will not win without a steal, which is exactly what they are planning to do,” chapter leadership wrote.
Quote:
An analysis of Telegram content by The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE) found that “election denialism has risen 317 percent over the course of October 2024,” a similar trend to the rise of violent rhetoric in 2020 which culminated in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Where, exactly is trump holding a huge lead, like what states, and which sites are you seeing that? I am not seeing that at all. Weren't you talking about Polymarket and all the the ones that had it 35 harris, 65 trump?

Penn is not 50/50, trump is already suing and none of the actual exit polls show that trump is leading.

How about a link?

Or hey, you keep spamming this stuff from twitter and RT, you must believe it, i'll take the current odds on your poly site for 100 dollars on Kamala Harris, Canadian. We can donate the proceeds to CP or a nice Christmas charity? You seem pretty confident and I don't mind donating if I lose.

Put up or shut up as they say Either way, if you accept, another family or a place of communication will be helped.
Sure, I'm game. If Trump wins, please donate $100 to the Mustard Seed, and if Harris wins, I'll donate $100 to a local charity of your choice and PM you a photo of the donation.

Trump is -125 to win Pennsylvania right now, or bet $5 to win $4. I sincerely hope that I'm the one donating the money, as I hate Trump, but think he'll win.

In Nevada I heard they will not have an absentee count until Friday. Ballets can be post marked until election day.

Among all the other obvious and justifiable praise for the guy, he comes off so smart and well-spoken, but not condescending

He did a great interview with Ezra Klein about three weeks ago. Most of the worlds "jungles" are in Central America, northern South America, western Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Arguably, the majority of immigration comes from areas of the world that are not classified as rainforest/jungles. The vast majority of immigration from those countries are from cities.

The comment is just straight up racism
