We could always Nuke Red Deer from Orbit.
Its the only way to be sure and, lets be honest, would anyone really notice?

Imagine if doctors and psychologists decided this based medical research and patient-specific considerations instead of the government.
Sounds pretty reasonable.

She's open with her struggles to transition. She knew she was different before age 10 and had confusing teenage years then made the decision in her 20's to transition after being married and still married to the same woman. She said that it would have been a mistake to do it in her teens even though it was a tough time for her. She wouldn't be at the press conference if she wasn't ok with the polices.

Of course, that's the exact red herring they want us to focus on though. Nobody is transitioning as a teenager.
But they might be using puberty blockers, which this policy attacks. Puberty blockers are meant not to transition, but to buy time so that your body doesn't have irreversible changes to a man or woman while you are maturing and figuring out your identity.

You know what treatment buys time for young people so that their bodies don't change in a way that they might not be happy with later? The puberty blockers that the UCP is restricting.
This is not helping young people avoid life altering decisions, it's forcing them to start puberty as the gender they were born and it's evil AF.
And if you want to ban women who have undergone male puberty from women's sports, puberty blockers are again a possible solution.
Said it before and I'll say it again. If you want to buy young people time to mature before they decide what to do with their bodies you should be all in on puberty blockers, not restricting them.
And IMHO sex ed should be straight up mandatory. Not opt-in, not even opt-out. Mandatory. In the public system, private schools, charter schools, religious system, and homeschool systems.
F the UCP.

In case anyone isn't clear.
Puberty blockers aren't hormone replacement therapy. They're not gender-affirming. They're hormone blockers. Gender neutralizing. They keep the patient a blank canvas so they can go through whatever puberty they want later.

No problem, they will still allow kids to use puberty blockers once they've turned 16... I'm sure we all remember celebrating our 16th birthdays knowing that we would be starting puberty soon.

It blows my mind that of all the problems Alberta has, and the world is going through, THIS is what a provincial government is ramming through, and what conservative leadership won't stop moistly breathing on everyone else (Rustad, Moe, Higgs).
This is like some dystopian alternate universe.

They just start this culture war crap to distract people from their dismantling of health care, public education, and parks.

Good luck trying to find any in this thread. It's been conservative free since Yoho got banned.
Even the rightest of wings can't defend this UCP kyitshow.

Google the person’s name and see their role is on the ownership and executive team of a private junior producer that received $625,000 in SRP funding and have been part of the RStar lobby among other things. Financial gain for being a pinkwashing mascot.

No worries. This is a homeopathic approach; getting kids a little pregnant and a little taste of gonorrhea early in life will strengthen their natural immunity to these disorders.

It was a Trudeau (old Pierre) who said government doesn’t belong in our bedrooms so , of course, the UCP has to get in there.

Agreed. The children who need sex ed at school the most are the ones whose parents were already opting out. Now they want those who forget or can't be bothered to also miss out.
I guess keeping if no one learns about sex then it's easier to make the argument that puberty blockers started in adulthood is a good idea?

UCP: there are only two genders and that's the way it is!
Kids: can we learn more about that?
UCP: don't ask questions your parents don't approve of.
