I guess Brad will turn 1 depth defenseman into like 3 with this trade. It may be Halloween but it's Christmas for Brad

It really doesn't do much for the Leafs except add some crummy depth that is slightly better suited to playoff hockey. Treliving still gave up a better player in the deal and really gained no meaningful picks other than some capital that can be flipped at the deadline as a sweetener.
Totally unsurprising that Tre would seek a 30 something plug in return. Say what you want about +/- but Benning being -24 on the 2021-2022 Predators team is a hard feat to accomplish.

Why does Grier get so much hate on this forum?

It's Tre doing the Tre.
Comical.

Ottawa should not be on an otherwise very solid list

The Bay Area has all these things except maybe windchill though?

Different strokes for different folks as always for these kinds of things. When I visited San Jose, it just felt too small for me. I've always enjoyed really populated cities over smaller city feels. That's why I love places like HK, pretty much any large city in China, Tokyo, New York, Toronto, etc. I love the hustle and energy that places with tons of people have.

It’s not really comparing apples to apples, though. You can get to San Francisco from San Jose faster than you can get to Toronto Pearson from Scotiabank Arena. Hell, it’s not that much longer than driving from the Saddledome to Bearspaw.
Anyone comparing San Jose to Toronto while ignoring the rest of the Bay Area is talking silly.

That's fair. Though in my defense, I also am not a huge fan of SF for the same reason (felt very quiet and boring to me). Really, that whole northern California area, including Sacremento were very meh, which was surprising for me as I expected very different.

Not to mention target practicing in Oakland.

He got roasted for re-signing Hertl and some of the other moves they made at the "start" of their re-build on CP.
And the negative view of him as a GM has seemed to follow him since then.
But really he's done mostly good since then (with the odd head scratcher mixed in).

I used to live in San Jose. High cost of living, high crime, boring as hell unless you want to drive an hour to San Fran. The only thing it has less on your list is windchills.

Clearly you’ve never even been to Toronto, then.

If you ever get a chance to live in what some call the sticks, have a go. You may already, but I don't know you. It's a nice life.
