I am glad it is only your opinion. This is by far one of the most talented bands ever assembled. Their songwriting was top notch as well. I think you stand on a very lonely hill if you think these guys are overrated....IMO

The overrated thing... I can understand that. Robert Plant gets on my nerves sometimes. But c'mon... Jimmy Page and John Bonham were indivually EPIC musicians, but together they were beyond amazing. If you've seen the Live At Earl Court DVD you'll know what I mean. Plant fades out quickly for me. But it was because of Bonham that I stared playing drums when I was 13. It was because of Jimmy that I switched to guitar at 15. Yet, I don't sound anything like 'em! www.fastromantics.com if you want to check it out.

I have to say though, the tour will never happen. I dont think Jonesy could stomach being around Page and Plant for that long. And Jimmy's doing well with his young model wife in Brazil. One off show for a good cause.

Admittedly, Zep is overplayed on the classic rock stations, but I would never call them overrated.

Fantastic musicianship IMO.

BTW, J pold, the ghost of John Bonham shall visit you in your sleep at an unspecified time in the future...enjoy.
Wrong. Some Zeppelin SONGS are overplayed.

75% of the world has no idea what Led Zeppelin has to offer beyond a few choice songs, which frankly aren't even close to their best work.

Brilliant band, great news, even though it's just for a memorial concert. Even if they can't live up to the Zeppelin of old, it'll be worth seeing, IMO.

Didn't mean any offense, was just responding...in support actually. I didn't read past that post either.

I'm a huge fan, but I wouldn't waste money on this... even if you get the opportunity to. These rumours have been around for years. Can only cry wolf once...

And the sonic vehicle that was once Led Zep hasn't had their motor for over 20 years.

Boo-urns.

Robert Plant himself has now reportedly denied these claims, according to RollingStone.com, and even made a joke about the purported reunion: "If there was one, then there wouldn’t be enough doctors to support it!"

Page and Plant already did a reunion record about 10 years ago. Not bad.

No Quarter (1994).

And, I forgot about Walking Into Clarksdale (1998).

Too bad they are just a really good cover band who didn't write their own stuff! (I'd go see them in a heartbeat though...)

Drummer Jason Bonham has confirmed that he is working on new material with original Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, although lead singer Robert Plant has not been working with the band.

there had been talk for a long time that Grohl would drum, but I think Bonham son would be more appropriate

Now I admitedly enjoy Led Zeppelin's music, however both of these statements are very erroneous:

Led Zeppelin ripped off more American Black Music than any other rock band of that era and gave no writing credit to the original writers. At least bands likeCream gave writing credit for a song like I'm So Glad, to the original writer, Skip James.

Many of their songs should have writing credit given to Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, and Blind Lemon Jefferson to name a few. They just cranked up the distortion on old Blues riffs, and Plante sang the lyrics of old blues songs in his trademark voice.

To say they were top notch song-writers is false; Led Zeppelin were top notch cover-writers for the most part, sans maybe stairway to heaven (even that's disputed -- It may have been performed by a local British band and they stole it).

They made excellent cover songs to help build a new genre of rock, however it disgusts me that they never gave any credit to original authors, until they were sued in some cases.

I agree. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are freakin pioneers of rock/metal.

eh, never been a fan of grampas in leather pants reuniting for stunts like this. I think it tarnishes their legacy for many people. I'd rather live with the lore of their awesomness, then be faced with an often dissapointing reality.
