Eugene Lewis is a potential free agent, I think the Elks would be crazy to not get him signed prior to him hitting the market, but you never know. Tevin Jones had a pretty good season for the Elks and could also hit the market.

Hmm no one actually posted any details of what was said. Some of those articles on that website are alarming.
A rift in the locker room, with the young player unwilling to learn and put in the work the words of Marken Michel.
This is from Rene "It’s tough for me to say, but we’ve been declining as an organization.”
“We’ve got a lot of young guys who haven’t had that guidance. Ignorance is bliss. It comes with experience,” he said. “Hopefully, a lot of them have got a year under their belt now so it’s one of those things where are you going to take it to that next level? Do you really want to win or are you here for a cheque? It is a character-building type of year and we’ll see who actually does work in the offseason.” Regie Begelton
“That is not my job,” he shut down one reporter. “I think I did as best I could for what I was given.” Rose
How bad is this locker room, seems like a team in shambles.
Only good piece in that article.
“(Special advisor John) Hufnagel, Dave, and I have worked incredibly hard over the past three weeks to build a plan for success in 2025 and we believe in that,” said McNeil.

I can't recall, but it's entirely possible. I think Lawler ended up getting 300K from Edmonton.

Brady Oliveira and Justin McInnis made history in 2024, becoming the first Canadian players to lead the CFL in rushing and receiving in the same season.
Oliveira ran for 1,353 yards over 17 games with the Blue Bombers, leading the league in rushing for a second straight year. The Winnipeg native finished almost 200 yards ahead of B.C.’s William Stanback to win his second-straight CFL rushing title, earning his team’s nomination for Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian.

I already see some people saying Dave threw Mark Kilam under the bus while it's more likely that Kilam is looking to be a head coach in the CFL and they mutually agreed to part ways. Instead of dragging this out any longer than it needed to be, Kilam is now available to get right to it looking for his next gig.

Should have kept Kilam for HC here in Calgary.
This will come back to bite em.

This is the first time I can remember under Huff/Dickenson that a coordinator was let go. Not really surprised about Monson as his defenses were bad/mediocre most of his tenure and he should have really been let go last offseason. This is a very positive change. Kilam is a surprise as the organization held him in high regard but he's been running special teams for decades and sometimes things get stale and a change is best for both parties. I wonder if Dave plans on bringing in Craig to run special teams and act as assistant to the head coach. Would make a lot of sense.
Hard to judge DelMonaco as he's basically running Dave's offense and since Dave calls the plays, firing him would be an admission that the play calling wasn't good (it wasn't). This is the unfortunate part of Dave staying on as head coach as his offense is bland, vanilla, dated, and simply one of the worst in the league.

Good morning seems like you just woke up.
This was announced on Sunday.
Dave is the Teflon Don, I think some people are having a hard time understanding this. Huff hand picked him to succeed him. Until Huff is gone, I can't see Dave being gone. Maybe gives up coaching but he will be the GM.
These changes are positive. Kilam needed to go, as did Monson the worst defensive coordinator in the CFL.

Just came to me. We better not replace Kilam with Craig Dickenson.
Time for fresh new ideas.

This is taken from an article a little over a month ago from 3DownNation where Craig Dickenson says he wants to be a head coach again in the CFL or even going the college route...
“I would like to be a head coach again and if that happens, great. If it does not, I want to coach. Whether that be in the U.S., I’ve still got some NFL contacts and I know there’ll be some jobs next year. I enjoy college football immensely. I still know enough people down in the States and the NCAA there might be an opportunity there or up in Canada,” the coaching lifer said.
“I’d certainly like another crack at a head opportunity because I feel like what I’ve learned, specifically these last five years, is really going to help me moving forward. I always felt like I had a pretty good grasp of the big picture in terms of how to build a team out of your foundational pillars of what you want to be known for. I feel like I’ve got a really good handle on the ratio.”

Well, there could be a CFL coaching vacancy as early as next Monday if the Lions lose because they are not happy that Rick Campbell could not even secure a home playoff game this season. Not saying Craig will get the job, but he could be in the running.

Never say never in the CFL but I don’t see Craig getting another shot as head coach in the CFL again. If Dave’s offering him a job, he best take it.

There shouldn't be much of a surprise that there are coordinators and coaches being let go. I do wonder if the coaches cap is why Dave is back. I also found it interesting that in his weekly segment on QR77, Dave said that over the past 2 years, there have been times when he has turned the offensive playcalling over to the OC. Maybe it is time for that to be a permanent change.
I can see Rick Campbell fired even if he wins a playoff game or two. Anything short of winning the Grey Cup will be a big failure for the Lions.
And now that Edmonton has named Chris Morris team president, who becomes the GM and HC? Lots of speculation out there that Ed Hervey will be their GM. Did Jackson do enough to remove the interim tag?

Mark Stephen was speculating that Kilam might take the job Morris left.
I can't see Campbell coming back here.
I watched the press conference. Sounds like Huff is still involved thank God, and they put together a 6-point plan to get us back to contention that was approved by CSEC.
He also said we will be aggressive in free agency. THe thing with free agency always is, you can have targets, but they have to hit the market. They already have a list of players they want to keep.
