I think at this point someone else would have to take it from him - he couldn't lose it, someone else would have to win.

The only way I see that happening is if the Dodgers choke the series away and they give it to Stanton or Soto.

If the Dodgers win, which seems pretty likely, even if he doesn't do anything else it's his unless Ohtani brings another 10 RBI game or something and takes it from him.

I respect Stanton for what he's done this post season. He has a pretty long list of leg injuries that have really rendered him to being what he is. He's getting his money and I personally think he's battled pretty hard to keep playing. He's a huge reason why they even made the World Series so it's unfortunate to see him made to look this bad. He's not slow because he's a bad athlete, he's a wounded one who's still giving what he has. Lots of guys in his shoes would half ass it and pack it in.

Yup, it’s great to see the smugness being wiped off of the Yankees faces especially Boone and judge. Dodgers better finish this one off, I’d be happy for a couple of guys on that team, can’t say the same for the yanks.

Yeah. If you're looking to apportion blame among Yankees for this, Stanton doesn't get any, imo. He's been one of the best hitters in the league this playoffs and is one of the few Yankees who have been hitting in the World Series.

But he's old, slow, and injury-riddled. The 3rd base coach never should have sent him given how shallow that ball was hit.

We still got that outside hope for a late MVP push by Meteor to ensure both teams lose. Dare to dream.

Yeah you can't really blame Soto, Stanton, Torres, and Rizzo from the Yankees side as they've tried to carry the team offensively all playoffs.

Chisholm (.170), Wells (.093), Verdugo (.194), Volpe (.244), and of course Judge (.140) have all been terrible this post-season. Rodon and Schmidt haven't been very good either as starters.

It speaks to how bad the AL was this year that the Yankees made it to the World Series on the back of 4 hitters, Cole, and the bullpen (Weaver, Holmes, Kahnle, Hill).

Oh and Boone is terrible too. Putting out Nestor Cortes instead of Tim Hill with the game on the line in Game 1 of the World Series is a decision that will be questioned forever.

God I hope the Dodgers win tonight. Watching the Yankees get swept at home would be amazing to watch.

I love seeing Judge struggle like this. Maybe there is something sketchy going on with him. Like something you can't get away with when all eyes are on you type of thing. Totally making #### up but I will never understand how a player who was never a great prospect, didn't really hit in the minors, could hit for power in the bigs but had a ton of holes in his swing, has turned into the greatest power hitter the game has ever seen. Anyway. That's my petty tangent. #### the Yanks.

If you wanna just say steroids, say steroids lol. I would guess 75-90% of all athletes are to be fair.

There were those sign stealing allegations when they played the Blue Jays last year I think?

I personally don’t get the hate at all for Judge’s attitude. He seems like the anti Yankee if anything. Jeter was cocky and to me a hateable player. But I find Judge the kind of player who just does his job and goes home. I like those guys. No need to be too high or too low. He’s underperformed though.

It'll never happen, but if the Yankees somehow comeback and win the series that fan is getting a statue in Monument Park.
