Rome falls

Rome has fallen. That would be Rome Cooney, the sixth player voted out of Survivor 47. But even in a season full of blindsides, Rome’s elimination this week was especially epic — coming after the player delivered ample boasts and brags about how he was running the game and would be feasting on the bones of his enemy.

Take me through how shocked you are when you see your name keep coming up on all those parchments at Tribal Council?

Honestly, I wasn't all that shocked. I knew that it was either going to be Sol or me, just because there was no other names being floated around, and in Survivor, if there's no names other than the name you're thinking is going to be being floated around, it might be you.

What was it like watching it all play back on TV last night?

It was honestly pretty cool. It was awesome being able to witness me being so confident thinking that it's going to be Sol, and things like that, and then being able to sit in Jeff's seat as well. That was obviously an absolutely incredible experience.

haha yeah right..."This is Michael Jordan vs. Kirk Hinrich. This is not even a competition right now. I'm playing this game on a whole 'nother level!”.

Fell a few weeks behind on this season, and the first couple episodes of this season seemed lame (like the last few seasons), so I think I'm finally throwing in the towel on Survivor.

Has this season been any better? Or same meh stuff as past few seasons?

Fixed, Survivor AU currently rivals and surpasses IMO even the best seasons of American Survivor

Well, that was an interesting mess of an episode.

Sol pulled off probably the best move there, getting the advantage and playing the proper one to perfection.

I don't believe that Rachel is the "charismatic powerhouse player" that the old Blue tribe thought that she is, though. I've not seen that at all so far.

Felt that Gabe would have been the better out over Tiyana.

Great move by Sol with the advantage. Sadly, he will probably tell someone or get caught. Gabe is going to take out my guy, Kyle, I think.

PS -there is a show called the 'Dark side of reality TV', I think the survivor episode from season 1 came out this week, i haven't seen it, so I may be wrong, but it is survivor, but the rest were pretty crazy when it comes to production vs what we see.

During the immunity and reward challenge, contestants were divided into two groups, with Probst telling players that only one of the teams would be safe. The last player remaining would win immunity for their group.

The yellow group won the challenge and consisted of: Sol Yi, Sam Phalen, Andy Rueda, Teeny Chirichillo and Genevieve Mushaluk. The blue group, which lost, was made up of: Sue Smey, Rachel LaMont, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar, Tiyana Hallums and Kyle Ostwald. Ostwald did win individual immunity, giving him safety in the game.

The two groups were separated as the blue group prepared to cast votes at tribal council. While at the reward, Sol found an advantage hidden near the food, which allowed him to send it to a player on the group casting votes. Sol sent the advantage, which allowed safety without casting a vote, to Rachel, the lone player in the group not on the former Lavo tribe and the obvious target.

This sent the tribal council into a tailspin as the remaining players scrambled on who to vote out. Ultimately, a majority voted for Tiyana Hallums, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Oahu, Hawaii.

with the Tiyana vote, csnarpy takes his first hit and trackercowe is voted off the CP Island.

I'm still not seeing Rachel as this charismatic powerhouse everyone else is. I wonder if it's just me or the edit.

Man...Andy needs to put his glasses back on. Also, I have a feeling he's going to get a carry to the Final. Nothing but goat potential in him.

A shame to see Sierra go. I was hoping she'd do a bit better, but I also think that she and Sam hitched their wagons a bit too tightly together.

Neat little issue in Tribal with Sam's vote gone.

Did Rachel vote on the re-vote?

Sierra was a bit of a sore loser. Good to see that a lot of players are really playing the game, and not just floating. I think this season is better designed for it.

No she did not.

Agreed I actually have looked forward to episodes this season ever since episode 4. A lot of people playing the game hard. The auction as always was entertaining. Solid episode

This week, a "Survivor" classic element returned for the contestants of Season 47: The "Survivor" auction.
Like all things in the new era of the long-running reality competition show on CBS, the auction had a twist. Tubes filled with differing amounts of money were hidden all over camp on the island where the players live, and they had to race to search and find them. At the auction, host Jeff Probst drew a hidden number from a bag determining how many items would be shown, and the player with the most money left would lose their vote at tribal council.
Sam Phalen had no vote going into the individual immunity challenge after being the player with the most money left at the end of the auction. Before the challenge, which had players holding a bucket with 25% of their pregame body weight up on a rope, host Jeff Probst announced that one man and one woman would walk away with an individual immunity necklace, leaving the remaining nine players vulnerable to being voted out.
For the third episode in a row, Kyle Ostwald won for the men. Sue Smey, the oldest player this season, won for the women.
At tribal council, another former Gata tribe member Rachel LaMont played her shot in the dark (losing her vote in order to chance immunity, which she did not receive), and the votes were tied between voting either Sam or Sierra out.
During a revote, a majority of players chose to vote out Sierra, making her the first member of the Season 47 jury, which will eventually decide on the winner.

with the Sierra vote, GreenLantern takes their first hit and WhiteTiger is voted off the CP Island.

I was really impressed by Rachel's use of the shot in the dark. She wasn't sure if she was the target so it allowed her to guage the reactions of the tribe without having to reveal or use her actual idol. I'm sure if she saw a different reaction that pointed to her being the target, she would have had to use it, but instead was able to keep the good stuff by sacrificing something that is barely used or successful.

I was wondering what she was doing at first, but when she played the SITD I thought the same thing, great move! Very smart.
I dont think she will last long term and Kyle has a very big target pasted on his back as well.

Before Probst revealed the twist at the individual immunity challenge, players split off into teams of two. They competed in the three-stage challenge, which ended in a outlast-style balancing act on two very small footholds above ground.
And as the first four players out of the challenge, Caroline Vidmar, Rachel LaMont, Andy Rueda and Sam Phalen lost their vote and had to compete to win it back in a special "journey." Gabe Ortis won the challenge and individual immunity.
During the journey, Vidmar, LaMont, Rueda and Phalen built a house of cards and the first player to topple the deck would lose their vote. That unlucky player was Vidmar, which was an unfortunate turn of events for the players back at camp counting on her to execute a blindside.
Genevieve Mushaluk took an opportunity to rally remaining players to orchestrate a blindside against Solomon "Sol" Yi, and after some initial panic and doubt both at camp and during tribal council, a majority of players voted for Sol.

with the Sol vote, ChuckieNZ takes his first hit and csnarpy is voted off the CP Island.

That whole episode was a bit of a mess, and I was thinking that Sam was doing a pretty good thing sowing some chaos...but in the end, Sol goes unanimously. Kind of a let down.

Kyle has no agency, and can't win every challenge. He's a nice guy, but seems out of the loop with the real movers and shakers. To me Sue is a bigger threat. She can win challenges, has a tight alliance with Caroline and Gabe, plus she has the secret idol. I would say she's the odds on favorite to win it all right now, and it'll make a good story to the jury once she reveals her true age.

Sure she looks like a turkey that's been left out in the sun for too long, but Sue has been impressive this season.
