I guess I won't be going to RAW now, unless I travel to Corpus Christi.

Apparently this is what his text message said:
One of the text messages sent by Chris Benoit early Sunday morning said "back door open, dogs have been fed", referring to the sliding glass doors in the back of his home. No one was quite sure what to make of it, but he wasn't reachable afterward for clarification.

Here's something from a statement released from the WWE.com
1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.
2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.
3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.
4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.
5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.
WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.

The confusing thing with that statement, is all news reports I've seen recently state that prescription anabolic steroids were found in the house. Is there such a thing as legal anabolic steroids? I'm asking, because I really don't know.

Yes there are legal prescription anabolic steroids. Mostly they are prescribed for cancer patients, people recovering from certain surgeries etc.

Ok, thanks. But it's fairly easy to speculate the kinds of steroids they in fact found. It may not be proper to speculate as such, but it's not hard to do.

It's rumored that Vince McMahon will appologize for the tribute that aired last night on ECW's show tonight.

Because it was'nt. Sunday was the PPV that Benoit missed that started to raise eyebrows. The tribute was done very last minute on Monday. In fact everything was going as planned until the WWE found out the news in the afternoon on MOnday. They had to tell the fans that were already waiting outside the arena that it was canceled and to go home.
They then decided to cancel the show and do the tribute. I would guess that the show was finished just before it went to air if not done while the first part was airing. This is why they did the tribute show. THey had at most 3 hours to go from putting on the show like normal to coming up with the tribute show. They could not have known that he did what he did.
If people remember the day after Owen died they did a wrestling tribute and they got a lot of crap for doing that so I guess they are pretty nuch damned if they do and damned if they don't.

If the WWE did no wrong, why are they apologizing?

They didn't do any wrong.
They're just appologizing for the fact that they started a tribute before the fact that Benoit was the murderer came to light. It's basic PR since I'm sure there's plenty of people who thought the WWE knew the facts before they started the tribute and were rightfully upset.

I know some people who had to take growth hormone because their doctors considered them undersized. I don't think it's anything too out of the ordinary.

People and espeically organizations have to apologize everyday for thing things that they shouldn't be faulted for.
I'm the furthest thing from pro WWE but unless anyone hear knows for a fact that they did that tribute with absolute knowledge of the situation then it is unfair to be so presumptuous.

It's pretty hard to argue they had knowledge considering they're not only apologizing for it, but distancing themselves completely from Benoit.
I mean, it's not like it's hard to predict that a few people might have a bone to pick with an organization that knowingly has a tribute that honors a murderer.
I really don't see how the WWE is at all at fault.
