The Habs are not going to give up any youth they think are part of the long term. Hage is a lot closer to playing than the Florida/Flames pick is (barring it being top 10 which requires a few conditions)

For that reason I am not sure if they would consider moving Dach at all? He is still 23 but based on what the Flames would be looking for you could assume he is the guy due to size and right shot. I could see the Habs parting with the Flames pick but could t see any drafted prospects be on the move since they want to start transitioning out of the rebuild but not so aggressively they are trading top prospects for 28 year olds.

Rasmus for 1st + Danielson + veleno + holl.

Flames take cap dump in Holl, get a young NHL center, nhl center prospect and a 1st.

Wings would would solidify their top 4 RD behind Seider and get some cap savings.

I think Danielson is a massive part of Yzerman's plan.
He will happily offer up guys like Rasmussen, Veleno and Berggren, but I don't think Danielson will be on the table

Berggren is RH and being played on the fourth line centre position. Rasmussen has long term third line C/LW/RW on a good team, written all over him, like a 6'6 Coleman. He has been played all over the map on the Wings, and even when he has some chemistry, they move him two days later.

Really bad development choices for these players, but could pop in the right situation. Detroit has also been experimenting with Olli Maatta at wing, so someone could take advantage there and send a two for one for a Detroit roster player.

Yeah I'm sure they hate to lose him but you have to give to get and it's not like he's profiling as a superstar #1.

Value wise, I'd say he's pretty comparable to Connor Geekie.

Plus they haves tons of center options, including young ones, in the organization so it's a big position of strength for them.

They've missed the playoffs for the last 8 years and they don't have a legit top-4 vet D.

Seider and Edvinsson are legit young guys, but then their D-Core is filled out with like a bunch of 5/6 guys like:
-Chiarot
-Maata
-Gustafsson
-Holl

They really need to get back into playoffs and they really need to solidy their top 4 to do that.

Plus Rasmus fits perfectly in their window being 27, a year younger then Larkin.

I think he's a perfect their and they could afford to sacrifice a piece, albeit a good one, like Danielson to do it.

I agree, I think Danielson is as untouchable as anyone.

I think they could afford to, but I doubt they will, because they don't have to.

IMO, no one will offer up an elite prospect in a package for Andersson. They'll add draft picks if they need too, but will stop short of the elite prospect. You just don't see that happen for rentals.

I'm okay with Zary playing the season with Backlund and Coleman, personally. I think that he could learn a lot playing with Backlund and maybe start to transition where he starts to take some draws and they shift Backlund to the wing over the next couple years.

I guess I don't really view him as an elite prospect but a very good prospect.

I don't think hes a top 50 prospect. Probably between 50-100.

And yeah they don't have to, no team does, but they should feel more motivated then almost any team to start making some big steps.

Theyve missed playoffs for 8 years, they have big holes on the backend, and a wealth of young centers.

I think he's top 50, probably in the 30s. More importantly he's Detroit's top prospect. Yzerman is too stubborn and too savvy to trade a guy like that, particularly when he's sitting on a pile of other assets.

MAYBE you get a guy like Kasper but doubtful.

I agree that Andersson mets a need with the Wings. But I doubt they’d move a young C. They’d offer something like Rasmussen and a 1st.

I think he'd at least as good as Mangiapane was at helping Coleman get 30 goals while, at the same time, potting more for himself than Mangy got last year.

Habs are looking for a dance partner, I wonder if newhook could be had cheap. He put up okay numbers with them last year and is still only 23.

I think I'd like him over krebs.

Pelletier for Newhook seems pretty fair.

Habs could have had Pelletier for a waiver claim
So I doubt they move Newhook for him

That was before the Canadiens knew Pelletier was French Canadian.

Kasper doesn’t move the needle I don’t think. Would prefer use Andersson as an asset to secure a centre with much more upside.

Marchand and Bruins are getting closer to 3 year extension

Habs looking for a forward with edge but won't do anything that will interfere with their plans beyond this season.

Klapka to Montreal would fill that need for a bottom six guy that can play, but also someone that no opposing player would want to mess with. It also allows Heineman to move up to the middle six, where he is better suited.

What about Oliver Kapenen back? A RH centre who is on the team to start the season, but is barely seeing any time. Suspect usage, and they look like they are not leaning into his strengths at all. He projects as an all-around third line centre with a wicked shot. 2nd rounder three years ago.
