Complete nothing hit. He could have killed him if he wanted to.

It wasn't that bad, but zayne is lucky it wasn't that bad. Certainly a vulnerable position and the head of buddy could've been smoothed fairly easily. If the two players were swapped I'd be upset about it.

Allard did BY FAR the most dangerous thing there.

It's not the hit that's a concern is it? It's the reports that he speared a fan.

Hitting a fan is more of the issue

Watched the game from the 2nd period on.

Wish I knew how to clip videos because Parekh had one of the nastiest snipes of the season (was called back on a 50/50 goalie interference call). Only 3 of the 16 skaters on the ice knew it was in. Parekh, who was standing by the net not knowing where the puck went, not included lol had a great celebration afterwards.

Game got crazy chippy in the final few minutes. Parekh's hit was much, much less dangerous than the one delivered by his teammate, Will Bishop, a couple minutes earlier who boarded Christopher Brown head first into the boards right after he scored. Awful hit, yes, but not warranted of anything extra imo. Bishop is likely sitting a few games+.

Obviously didn't see the Parekh/stands incident, but hopefully he's able to avoid massive discipline and was "in the right" more or less for the irresponsible move.

I think so too.

Joking aside, if he physically assaulted someone (especially with a stick -- a weapon) he could be in serious trouble.

Awaiting the follow-up here.

That tweet comes off as pretty biased. Oilers fan or something? Can detail the incident without the shot to Pospisil and reference to Happy Gilmore.

edit: looks like a Flames fan after all. Weird tweet.

So to summarize:

A fan may or may not have said something to Parekh that may or may not have been racist and he may or may not have hit a fan with his stick?

I don’t see anyone credible talking about this yet. So let’s maybe wait to pass judgement until we get the actual story.

Western scout is actually a Flames fan or at least gives that impression, very biased towards Flames prospects and has been hyping our prospects and drafting for a while.

I still wish Parekh was in the AHL, I do genuinely think junior is a waste of his time, and hope the transfer agreements change in the next CBA so players of this talent level who aren't quite NHL ready could play at a higher level of competition.

X isn't a source, it's a medium. You wouldn't treat the phone company as a source of conversation, would you? It's the people at the other end of the line that matter.

According to what i've gathered, he lightly pushed his stick into a fan on the way off the ice or into the dressing room. The fan may have said something racially charged to him to set him off.

If that's the case, I'm guessing he gets around 3-6 games.
