It is another solo affair (second time in a week) for the Wednesday
Night Hockey OOT, this time featuring an intra Metropolitan Division battle.

Taylor Raddysh with thw first goal five minutes into the game, 1-0 Capitals. The Flyers have only two shots on net so far!

Yeah the Frozen Frenzy thing is neat but actually makes the schedule the week of those games kind of ####ty.

Would be better to have it across 2 nights and 8 games per night with the same type of staggered 20 minute starts

This is the best type of OOT hockey. Two teams I’m fairly indifferent towards, and everytime I look up someone’s scored. Philly is clawing back after being down 4-0 on 10 shots

I haven’t watched many Capitals games in the last couple years but it is a very different looking team in the sense that Ovechkin seems to be exclusively a PP specialist. I’m sure he’s played some 5-on-5 minutes this game but I can’t remember seeing him out there at all for any 5-on-5 time.

lol, the guys that think Ovechkin won’t beat Gretzky are delusional. The Caps are ready to do a full rebuild as soon as he hits it and are more than happy to gift him sheltered time until he does. It’ll be one of the greatest moments in NHL history, even if he gets there with two broken hips into an empty net. 40 to go!

The Capitals sweep the home/away series and win on aggregate 10-4. The Flyers
almost completed the comeback. It was 4-0 Capitals and then the Flyers scored
3 goals to make it close. The Caps scored 2 empty net goals, OV had one of them.
The Flyers PP was better in this game as they were 2/4 and stopped the Caps from
scoring SHGs. Logan Thompson made his Capitals debut in net and made 23 saves
for the win.

I hope Ovechkin misses Gretzky's record by 50 goals and goes all next season without a single goal
