Not A Chance:
Seth Jarvis
Wyatt Johnston
Connor Bedard
Logan Stankoven
Shane Wright
Will Smith
Jett Luchanko

Less Proven, Probably Not A Chance, Would Cost Too Much
Mavrik Bourque
Brad Lambert
Frank Nazar
Calum Ritchie
Matthew Poitras

More Proven, Maybe A Chance But Going To Cost a Lot
Martin Necas
Dylan Cozens
Gabriel Vilardi (Playing top line RW for the Jets...so probably not)
Dawson Mercer (Playing top 6 RW for the Devils...so probably not)
Shane Pinto

Maybe Could Be A Target
Philip Tomasino (Might be more of a winger)
Mark Kastelic
Akil Thomas
Ty Dellandrea
Kirby Dach
Rasmus Kupari
Jean-Luc Foudy
Gavin Brindley
Ryan Winterton

Conroy mentioned being willing to move a 1st...which makes me thing he's shopping more in that Pinto, Necas, Cozens realm, than one of the guys who is more of a more affordable acquisition that's less proven.
I think a couple more worth noting:

Red Wigs:
Rasmussen and Veleno.
They're buried behind larkin, compher, copp, kasper and danielson.

Capitals:
Lapierre and McMichael

They're behind Strome and PLD.

All those guys are LH shots but yeah the list is a lot more expansive if you include LHs as they are more common.

Also McMichael is over a P/GP for Washington right now, don't think he's going anywhere

McMichael could be a good guess here too. PLD trade pushed him down and he's on a bridge

Haha yeah I know, I heard that too.

I was making a joke about how he was supposed to be a savior for them back then too.

Not sure why people keep bringing up Necas as a possibility. More than a PPG and playing 17+ minutes a night. Why would CAR move him?

iirc he and his head coach aren't super tight and there was talk he'd been discontent there for a minute.

Poker is cooking.
Will update when I hear more, but was told that the Flames have in fact inquired on a number of young centers over the last 2 weeks. There's definitely interest and its not for a 30+ year old Toronto 4th line center who Brad's trying to dump and sell via media.

Geez, don't know. New Jersey would maybe be interested in taking their conditional first back this year with another asset (Pelletier perhaps) for Mercer. That gives them lots of draft capital and cap space to place with throughout the season

NJ is all in to try and win now and Mercer is their top line RW. I can't see them trading that guy but if they did I think you would have to attach a Kuzmenko to that deal. I think there are better targets that will cost less to take a chance on.

Based on history, I trust Conroy's player evaluations and judgment. I could not say that about the prior GM.

I still want Cody Glass. That guy is the definition of a guy that has not been given a proper chance up the lineup. He needs to put on some muscle though, he is 6'2 but only 175lbs. He plays a responsible 200 foot game, can kill penalties, but what I really like is his skill set and shot. His skill set is better than Krebs and he will cost less, plus he is a RS. Next to Crosby he was the best Penguin forward last night.

Who makes sense and if we did get that coveted RHS young C, and where would they slot?

I don't think it would be Kuzmenko the Devils would ask for...

This is just a rambling thought but Coleman is the type of guy a team taking the next step wants for the playoffs, can play the RH side, and was a fan favourite before being traded from New Jersey.

If there is a forward the Devils want from the Flames it's probably Coleman.

Probably missed that boat though.

Seems really weird to me that the Flames weren't in on that one when he was moved to Pittsburgh with a 3rd and 6th round pick attached for him.

Flames should have just taken him for free.

Still doesn't make sense for them to swap Mercer for Coleman. They might want to add him if they can fit him capwise though. Teams stuck in the middle or teams on the downswing make the most sense unless Andersson is going the other way.

Dylan Cozens would be a fun target, if not for his $7.1M cap hit!

31G + 37A two seasons ago, then a disappointing 18+29 last year, and off to an ice cold 0G + 2A through 8 games so far.

Yeah I have a hard time seeing Mercer too - if they were going to trade him it would have just happened as part of the Markstrom trade.

Was more just rambling that if a forward did go back the other way the guy they would want wouldn't be Kuzmenko, it would be Coleman.

Of the "more proven" guys that could move this might be the most likely.

Big cap hit (And the Sabres are struggling to draw fans and may want to shed salary).

Has not lived up to expectations and the fan base is really turning on him too.

Only thing is they already moved Mittelstadt, so not sure they'd want to move on from another center now. They are bought into having Thompson, Cozens, and McLeod as their top 9 centers for the long term I think and likely don't want to sell low on Cozens unless the owner gets involved somehow.
